Funny you say that, I was a valet at LA airport in the 60’s and got to go for joy rides in some great cars. The Beachboy Steve Love had a new Dino, Jim Morrison had a black 911, Pat Boone‘s Rolls Royce and dozens of other regulars. That was a great job, I never knew who I would meet that day, but it was always someone exciting. We knew how to drive and we were always respectful of the cars entrusted to us.
Agreed Russk - I brought it up, because as a career I run a national valet and parking company - been doing it for 33 years now. I have literally been accused of stealing engagement rings, full PC servers from trunks of cars, a Secret Service laptop in DC in 2012 - only to later have the people find the item under the seat or remember they left it at home and it was never in the car in the first place. I've had residents at luxury properties who drive with their lap dog sitting in their lap, then try to blame the valet for the bite marks on the steering wheel...

Look I get it - I'm in the service industry-but imagine someone accusing you of stealing something or causing damage that you did not do in front of a large crowd of people at a busy hotel - that's pretty F'd up and demoralizing.

If you are not 100% sure the valet did it-do them a favor and don't speculate - it makes you an asshole-nothing more.

Why does everyone always blame the valet? Here's a top tip. Check your car when you pick it up and stop blaming other people.
I will cherish your top tip in my heart. Can we still be friends?

Quick thought for the OP - have you tried steaming it? If you use a handheld clothes steamer with a towel placed over the leather you might be able to work that out.
Now that’s a tip..thanks I will try that

You guys are funny! I have an incredible list of exciting encounters from that job.
I got to sit next to Ursula Andress once on a drop off and this was quite a thrill after falling in love with her in the Bond films Dr No & Caino Royale. When she got out of the car she was wearing a see through dress and I melted.
When you melted, did it leave a mark on the seat? 🤣

Would love to hear some stories. What an experience!

You allow a person who makes $15 an hour to park your car??? My friend was a valet for 4 years in west LA and the valets would see who could get in and out of the garage the fastest in all the high end cars. Absolutely not letting anyone valet Lamborghini.

In my estimation; that appears to be a natural defect in the hide and was exacerbated by the tanning process. QC should have caught that. One other possibility may be that there is insufficient padding behind that spot allowing for excessive stretch of the material. Upholstery shop should be able to give a better differential diagnosis and solution.

OP, any feedback from the dealership yet?
Nothing useable..they just said if I want to replace it is the full cost of leather, and that it won’t get any worse. They weren’t very interested in having a 3rd conversation around this 😒

To be honest, I thought that was the kind of response you were bound to get. One other thing, when the dealerships muck around with your car they may solve one problem but create three more. Maybe consult with a leather specialist and see what recommendations, if any, he/she could provide.

Step 1) Go to a leather/upholstery shop and get their assessment (in writing). Ideally if they can indicate a manufacture defect (vs. user damage) you are in better shape.

Step 2) If the 3rd party expert cites some kind of defect, connect directly with Lamborghini North America and state your dissatisfaction with the issue (and your Dealer's unwillingness to even discuss the obvious warranty issue).

My sense is if you document correctly (and it is found to be a defect) it would be covered under warranty---

Hey all - I've got an annoying dent or cut into the drivers seat. I have never had anything in my pockets to cause this, and wondering if there was some valet guy out there who had something in his pocket. Anyways it is mostly visible in the sunlight but irks me.

What would you guys do? My dealer said it's most likely not going to get any worse - I don't know about that.
I'm very sure it's fixable. If not DIY, you can bring it to local leather work (upholstery?).

They will stretch the leather to remove the wrinkles, apply matching coloring on top, and then recoat it. It will look like new.
