Some may call me cheap.. I'm ok with that. So instead of spending $300-500 on a new hood badge, I took an hour of my time. The badge is not perfect by any means.. but it looks much better than it did before.

When I got my car I was able to find just the metal cover and order that - not the full emblem. Still $200 but looks brand new (link below)
