so im having questions on the daily about my new SL. Really enjoying learning something new, pulling out the front trunk thing there's 3 sorta indents on the upper frame I guess you'd call it. all these normal? what's the point of them Thx Lee

I think those facilitate the front crumpling to absorb energy in a collision.

shoot I just closed it back up , That makes sense . I looked on euro spares at the parts and can see them

You talking about the rails that are on either side of the trunk tub when you remove it? I have those too on my '06; I noticed it when I swapped the battery this past weekend. Just curious if we both noticed the same thing or you're talking elsewhere.

Like mentioned, crumple zones to hopefully deflect a front blast away from you.
