Corvette owners are smarter than Lamborghini owners

A friend of mine was at a grocery store parking lot and saw an orange sports car.
She asked the owner if it was a Lamborghini and he replied ' I'm smarter than that, this is a Corvette and it cost my $60,000'.

Hey a couple of my friends thought I was dumb for buying a 10yr old used Lambo vs a nice Brand New C8.
I guess I'll get smarter every year as the 'average' C8 value goes down and the Gallardo value goes up. (y)

I may be in the minority as a former gallardo owner. I have a new Z06 arriving in the next 21-30 days. The current market is about 210-220K. I'm thinking about a flip into a 458 or Huracan quickly at these levels with a dealer. Sticker on my Z06 car is 130K

Visually speaking after Aventadors and Huracans my favorite cars to look at are black C7's with full aero. The C8 Z06/ Z07 package in black looks pretty damn good. I wouldn't be surprised they will be flipped at 200-350K.

Right now pre owned regular C8 range from 110K all the way to 190K

I’m not really a fan of any other generation of the Corvette, except for C8 variants

I don’t know how true that C8 stingray market is I just sold mine 2 weeks ago for 87K it was a 2020 with 3,800 miles so it was basically 10K over sticker. Had it almost 3 years ( first ever vette) great car hence why I ordered a Z06.
I just don’t see 100 K over MSRP on Z06 sticking that’s why I’m looking to get into 459 or Huracan while the getting is good on trades.

In Kanada, prices are just nuts. Since the H bubble doesn't seem to drop what so ever I contacted a few Corvette dealers for the Z06, One of them said 3 years as they only had one allocation per year without any guarantee I would get one and the next dealer said to me it was a 5-10 year wait time for a Z06 and I would be #50 on the list with a 10K deposit. By that time the car would no longer be in production anyway.

All generations before the C7 I do not like the aesthetics. The reason I finally bought a C7 was I knew I could make it look good to my eyes with the aero kit otherwise in stock form it wasn't appealing.

I don’t think anyone would think I was smart purchasing my corvette for 15x over sticker.
But in 1969 the msrp was $6000 which I’m sure was outrageous. Compared to the muira in 1969 which was around $20,000 which would have been psycho.
Today, the 1969 corvette is valued at 30x and the miura is 50x. Lamborghini wins.
I pick psycho
I don't see a problem with that approach. Your dealer has a huge investment in his business and which ever way he thinks he can get the best returns is his prerogative.
If this approach didn't work he wouldn't be doing it.
Businesses can adjust prices and control conditions in the market with exception.

The exception is businesses cannot make false or misleading claims about prices like the reason for changes in prices to make a sale. These are outlined in the laws.

For example, advertising that "there are not enough cars to meet demands at the moment. Manufacturers cannot produce enough cars. So, we are raising prices," when in fact, there are tons of cars in hidden inventory to fulfill buyers need to avoid raising prices :) Like the practice of choking supplies except that they are not telling that to the public when making the sale.

Businesses are not transparent enough or ethical enough these days. Customers are like sheep.
