Corvette owners are smarter than Lamborghini owners

A friend of mine was at a grocery store parking lot and saw an orange sports car.
She asked the owner if it was a Lamborghini and he replied ' I'm smarter than that, this is a Corvette and it cost my $60,000'.

This must be Pre-Covid and without the mark-up. Lol
It's all relative. It just depends on what you actually like and what you are willing to pay for. Some people would NEVER pay more than 30k for a car but they probably spend, I don't know, $5,000 on a collectible coin or stamp, which I would NEVER do.... but again, it all depends on what you really love and how much you are willing to spend or how big or small your budget is.

I like Corvette and all, but that $60k car isn't enough for me to avoid a trip to a psychiatrist. When the time comes when one is too old to drive, all that money in the bank seems useless.

There are many ways to view this comment. His response was a little sour but I'd like to reflect on this for a moment.

It is true that the cost of purchase and repairs are much lower on a Corvette, it could be argued there is a "Lambo tax" on Lambo parts making a Vette a "smarter" choice in value for the money. On the other hand he thinks those who pay a whole lot for a car are not smart, I assume he never thought this through, depending if you have a high income the cost of purchase and maintenance are somewhat relative.

It helped me avoid a psychiatrist for the last 3 years driving my C7 but now it's getting a bit gloomy as I hoped to get into an H about this time. A customer kicked me out of her house last Monday wanting me to cheat the contract and when I refused she pulled discrimintation arguments. Then on Friday another guy threathened to leave a bad review because he agued I was supposed to include free stuff. I agree sometimes money in the bank seems a little bit useless, I know buying my next car will cheer me up and make that expenditure worthwhile.

These threat of leaving bad reviews seemed out of control lately. Something should be done because it's being milked by bad customers.

Just yesterday when a customer had problem because she used my invented product outside of it's intended use. I replied by email giving her the most detailed, honest, and fair explanation that I could. She then used one point of my explanation to her advantage by lying and twisting the real fact when she put in bad review. I should've just wrote it outright that my product break because she was just too heavy and overweight. I didn't want to hurt her feeling or body shaming her because I was too nice.

The term anything you said would be used against you (not just in the court of law) is absolutely true in Internet. The next time, I would put out textbook replies out of my lawyer book. Liar's feeling aren't my problem. Sorry ma'm, please go on diet.

I totally understand. I was a builder for 20 years. I had a guy want me to build three houses and overinflate the budget so he could get cash back. I said no thanks. Had the discrimination gig pulled on me also. I had a renter that was about to get evicted for non payment of rent so he went to the City and filed a discrimination action. It stopped the eviction and I got screwed . I had to work this sweetheart deal for him to move out to get the city to drop the action. I dont care what color anyone is but using race to screw you really sucks. Buy the Lambo. It has a huge happy factor. It makes it worthwhile to deal with all the jerks. You should start recording all your meetings. It is legal as long as one side knows you are recording. That way when someone trys something sleazy, you can just tell them you recorded the whole meeting and would be glad to play it back for them. I save every email from many years back.(Probably have 20K or more) They have been priceless in dealing with crooks and jerks.

There's a glimmer of hope when I heard this saying from Valuetainment, bad reviews will not matter when you have reached saint status. Meaning when you get so many good reviews versus the bad ones it will not matter.

I also reply to these reviews in a way when others read they understand the bad reviewer was unreasonable or a cheater.

A few years ago I had purchased a pocket recorder because I had many cheaters, I even asked an attorney if I could strap on a body cam but it would of been illegal. That's how rough it was. I started to disqualify them on the phone and the problems dropped a lot but I still have some soap stories on a weekly basis. I decided not to record anymore, keeping track of all those phone recordings, (I get up to 15 calls a day) and those in customer's houses would be a challenge to keep up. I already take pictures of before and after. I also realized recently I had an ad on a certain site to keep my presensce high in search results but they had expired months back and I noticed most bad and unqulaified customers were calling from that ad. Since it is no longer there I have a lot less of them, I think I will not renew it over there.

I'll buy the H when one shows up closer to my upgraded budget or I've reached higher savings, I have no choice but to be patient for the moment.

I'd like to keep my status as perfect as possible because my business depends on trust from the banks and clients. Nobody compete fairly these days. They send in their gangsters & yakuzas families to put bad reviews which are 100% lies. In the old times, gangsters use guns and bullets. These days they send in crooks to put in bad reviews behind a computer. Good thing is all my clients are old clients that do business with me from 20 something years ago. They know I'm a fair & highly trustable person. New clients unfortunately need some persuasion because they are dumb enough to read the Internet.

If I had to choose between being smart or being successful enough to afford a Lambo, I know which I’d pick. Not that they are mutually exclusive, but I’m sure there are many smart corvette owners. Lol

I never considered myself all that smart, but I question the intelligence (intellectual and social) of a person who answers the question that way.

All well and fine except the bad for the bad taste it will leave in the corvette owners mouth every time he has to explain " No it's not a Lambo or Ferrari, it's a corvette" and these people will go "Oh, well it's nice too" LOL leaving him deflated.

I like the new Corvette, bang for the buck hard to beat it's brilliant, but it's still a Corvette can't get past it.

Not sure if this helps but in my industry a recording device can be beneficial. In the US each state treats it differently but years ago I was able to get an ok from Compliance across all states if the advisor asked the client for permission to record in advance. If the client said yes then the device is turned on and asked again so that the permission is recorded and then the rest is ok to be recorded.
Here's a different perspective....With GM pricing the "track model" in the $150s (if they can even make one with the carbon fiber bits), the smart person would buy an exotic because if you put a Lambo and Chevy in front of someone, most would choose the Lambo even if it's used. This is coming from a former Corvette diehard who made just such a decision.

The last couple that asked me what kind of car my Murci was… I said it was a cheap foreign import.

I can record voice no problem as long as one party consents and no need to disclose it.
A few Vettes I can imagine having along side a Lambo, Zr1 C6,C7 models & the new Z06C8 or E-Ray. Those (4) models look great and are pretty much up there with performance for 1/2 the price.

Excellent observation. That is the root of the problem, It is like a Countach replica. It is not a countach. I think they are very cool for the money. I am surprised though that Gm, with all their engineers and designers, did not create something original like ford did with the GT40. They basically copied a lambo and put a corvette motor in it.
