Anyone have a cordless radar detector that they really like and would recommend?
I was thinking that there should be a way to integrate a radar detector into the Infotainment center or is that a pipe dream? I have yet to find a radar detector that looks good hanging on the windshield. The technology even seems to be archaic and hasn't changed in decades.

You can get the Net Radar that gets installed outside... and since you are at it, get yourself the ALP laser jammers that go pretty good with it!

I used to have the Escort Solo S2 (cordless, battery operated)...it was worthless. It falsed all the time; probably outdated technology.

Was a while ago and they have probably got better but I had a cordless Escort Solo and it was not good, does not have nearly the power of a wired one. And never put one on windshield with a cord dangling. I use to spend big bucks getting installed systems along with jammers but no more. First I think jammers are a waste, my last ticket was by laser and I know I jammed it but still lost when I fought it. They don't have to show any proof, at least here. Also have found laser is used mostly on highways and they usually sit there for awhile so Waze will most likely alert you to them. Or even better is I also use a Smart Escort 360, if any other unit in your area picks up a signal it automatically sends it to you. I put mine up high and then it takes 5 minutes to hardwire it, just tuck cord under trim to fuse box. If you are not comfortable doing that any aftermarket shop would do it for a few bucks. Can't see my detector from the outside and not even that noticeable inside and the new suction cups are great.

I tried to use a radar detector but it was more annoying than helpful and returned it. My hats off to those that have one, and have it operate without being overly intrusive.

The new ones are great, I almost never get a false signal. GPS on them learns and blocks out false alerts

Lol, I had the same one, still do and won't even use it. As you said worthless, and it is old.

Mine has saved my bacon on multiple occasions, and almost never falses. I'll absolutely never drive a fast car without one again. I even take it with me when I go out of town and rent sports cars or exotics.

Thanks for sharing everyone, some great examples. I’ve been caught twice now by radar and I need to prevent a third.

I have a radar in each on my vehicles, using Redline 360c, Max 360c and ALP radar/laser shifter. Blendmount with mirror tap provides a very clean look. I prefer the window mounted units, easy to remove, more cost friendly, and often work just as good. You'll still get false alerts no matter what unit you get, but with a little common sense and experience using the detector you'll learn quickly what is a real threat and what is not. The newer detectors can be setup through a phone app. Vortex radar provides very good comparisons between detectors and explains in detail what settings you need. Preferably I'd use a radar that has directional arrows, showing which direction the threat comes from, this is very helpful.

I tried using a Blendmount in my Evo but was in my line of sight to much

I usually mount mine on the passenger sun visor with a clip. That way it's out of my line of sight, almost invisible from the outside, but I can still see the arrows when it goes off.
