I think every 'car guy' thought about it at one point or another. It looks super cool, and is very unique. Anyone who knows what it is will ask you about it.
After that though, I can imagine it would be annoying. First, if it is an adapter style, the offset of your wheels will be very different, almost like running a really large spacer. If they aren't an adapter, it means you are running completely aftermarket hubs, and hubs/knuckles are not easy to swap, so a pain to go back to stock.
You wheel options are VERY limited and VERY expensive.
So. Yes, super cool, very unique, but not very practical.
