Can anybody summarize what series, or chassis numbers range have been equipped with what engine ?
Can a Injection engine be modified to a Carb. ?
Which is, to your opinion, the more reliable engine ? or the purest...or the more...envoyable to run, etc..:)
Thanks for your comments ;)

Hi Eric,

you cannot tell by the VIN, you need to have the factory build sheet for this.
All official imported US Countach's were injected, there is a bunch of grey market imports which are carbed.
In Europe you can hardly find any injected car, the few in switzerland are all imports from the States.

Of course an injected car can be changed to carbed, you can still find the webers and also the rest should be available. But it's better to buy a car which is like you want instead of changing one.

Of course the carbed is a lot more fun, the webers roar like crazy, reliable are both, perhaps for the webers it's easier to find spare parts than for the old Bosch injection units.

Hi Raymond,
Thank you for such a fast answer...well, it's much more simple than I though then...no need to go deep in the Santa Agatha archives then ;)

Sorry there was a mistake, all official US cars were injected, also some arabian.
The factory built only 37 US injected LP5000S, all other were carbed, some later converted to FI to be imported to the states, refer the www.Lamborghiniregistry.com for details.

Hi Raymond,

Is this site an official one, or just a friendly who's who like the L-talk garage section ? Some pages have not been updated for ages.

I found www.lp112.com which must have been a nice one, with lots of good ideas, but it seems abandonned now...
