Hi, I'm new to this forum and happy to be here. I am not an owner of a Lamborghini now but hope to be soon. I have a few basic questions that I would like to ask:

1. What is the first year that the Murcielago was available with E-Gear?

2. Is anyone aware of any future possibility that the Gallardo may have doors that open vertically towards the front of the vehicle (like the Murci)?

3. Putting aside price and speed - what other factors should I be considering if I have the opportunity to go with either the Murci or the Gallardo?

4. What is a good price for a used 2003 Murci or new a 2004 Gallardo both with E-Gear? Are the prices currently on the rise or on the down?

5. I'm not dead set on a new vehicle. Should I be concerned about looking into a used one? Is the savings proposition on a well cared for used vehicle a good one? How much should I be looking to save (as a percentage of the new value)?

Thanks in advance for your help!

1.) 2003 I think? Not sure, confirm on that one.

2.) Gallardo will never have doors that open up. It's a decision based on model separation. Keeps the Diablo, Countach, and Murci with their own distintive supercar look.

3.) Everything. Price and speed, looks, reliability, love for the body style, maintanence, fuel economy, smiles per mile, etc.........

4.) eBay.

5.) I'll probably never buy a new car worth more than $100k. The depreciation hit is not my style. Lamborghinis depreciate just like any normal car. Expect that 30% hit when you drive it off the lot.

The profiles are definitely mixed up on the new site. Earlier I was unemployed and living in Redmond, CA. I've fixed it now.

1. E-gear in the Murci just started coming out this year. I'm certain it's not a 2003 model. I think it's MY 2004. I could be wrong.

2. Like Ben said, no. This was confirmed by G. Greco, when he was still the top honcho at Lamborghini. He also mentioned that the Gallardo was specifically designed with regular doors.

3. I'd say the G car is better suited for track use than the M car. Both are great car, buy what stirs your soul the most.

4. E-gear Murcis are still too new to find a used example. However, a 2003 would be around $215-240K range. As for the Gallardo, I've seen it as low as $150K for a pre-owned car.

5. If you don't mind buying a used car, there is really nothing to worry about with those cars. The models you are looking for should still have the factory warranty with it. You should be more concerned with the seller than the car itself.
