It is not for every driver, but that type of wear could have been avoided with proper care, treatment and/or gloves.

That owner prolly had Palmar hyperhidrosis i.e. excessively sweaty palms. Fortunately there's effective medication available.

I personally don't suffer from said affliction so Alcantara steering wheels are all good.
