I wanted to engage with the LP Spyder owners who are driving with aftermarket exhausts. Stock LP exhaust is too quiet, especially compared to my Pre-LP with stock exhaust (but the valves were permanently open) .

I like driving with the top down and don't want an excessively loud exhaust. There will be a lot of personal preferences, but I'm interested to see your thoughts. I want to avoid CELs and drone. I hope to use the stock heat shielding to avoid melting the rear bumper and wires.

So are you saying you haven't done the 'permanently open' valve mod on your LP yet ? It's not a Huge difference, but it is definitely an improvement....even if only temporary.

I went with Avior and am very pleased with the choice. I removed the heat shield and wrapped it with heat wrap. Alex was fantastic to work with, and I would buy it again if I had a do-over. The pricetag is very reasonable...money well spent!

Beautiful! I’ve stumbled across Avior after watching so many aftermarket exhaust videos for the LP. Avior sounds great! I will have to give them serious consideration. Thank you.

Ok, the beauty of these threads. I knew nothing of Avior until now, and will consider it a viable option. They offer it in Stainless AND Titanium (stainless has a lower pitch tone compared to higher pitched screaming titanium) for your personal preference, w/ even a Stainless resonated version if you so desire. 3 options and the Best part ---- MADE IN AMERICA !! ((Beware the < $1200 China copy unless your okay with crappy welds, tailpipes sticking out in different directions, and improper spacing)) I have a titanium system on another vehicle in my stable and based on how incredible that thing sounds, I'd put my $2700 on the 'T' system ! (the stainless about 2K). I currently have the stock LP exhaust with the valves controlled by an additional vacuum solenoid that allows me to open or close them at will. Yes, you can buy such a thing for around $300 but I didn't think that was worth it compared to just plugging them off, so I made my own for about $30 and my time.
I'm not too keen on the idea of ripping the whole back of the car off to change the exhaust, so I'm taking my time to decide absolutely what I'm going with. If I suddenly find myself needing a clutch well then that's a different story, but I'm Ok with the valve mod for now......

OH, and the VERY IMPORTANT point I forgot to make there...... REGARDLESS, of what system you choose, make sure it is ENGINEERED for this car. FABSPEED, for example as I've used them before on a Porsche... spends a great deal of time and effort into R&D to engineer all aspects into their systems, As opposed to the 'non-branded' or copies that just weld pipes together to look similar. This is EXTRA critical when designing a straight pipe system because lengths, bends, transitions, pipe diameter all change characteristics in the sound!! Undesirable Frequency cancellation has to be engineered into all those things without the added benefit of mufflers and resonators... COPIES WILL NOT DO THAT. That's how you can have two 'nearly' identical exhausts on the same type of car and one sounds beautiful and the other sounds like Crap

I installed an Fi system on my 2010 LP Spyder... did it myself over 3 days (took my time). Dumped the heat shield and wrapped it in titanium... valved system with two settings that are great when I pull into the neighborhood...

Do you have any sound clips of your Fi exhaust? Very few videos on YouTube.

Nice work installing the exhaust yourself btw, wish I had the tools and mechanical ability.

I'll try and find some to post... I did it about 4 yrs ago. You won't get the high pitch scream of a pre-LP, but I felt the Fi was the closest, it is terrific with the top down and the valves are controlled by a wireless keyfob that works really well.

I think it is FabSpeed that has exhaust swap directions on their website (or at least they did)... I printed these out and went step by step. Alexis Dixon at Precision-Sport outside of Orlando is who I purchased from... I cannot say enough about them... I remember that I did the install over Labor Day weekend and they gave me the personal cell phone of their head mechanic if I ran into any issues... I called him twice I think when I wasn't sure (getting the old V-clamps to release was a challenge) and he answered immediately and was a tremendous help!

Dropped 50lbs of weight aft of the rear axle and also added some HP... win/win...
