2021 EVO rev in park/neutral

We have 2 2021 EVO RWD and 1 2020 EVO AWD. Both 2021's will only hit about 4000rpm in park/neutral. The 2020 will rev as normal. My dealer has no idea, and the tech said he guesses Lamborghini changed it for 2021 to protect the engine.
Does anyone have experience/information about this?

Thank God they added that feature...Too many rides I've been on where some guys will sit there and rev the snot out of the car, usually a Lambo too...it's bad for the car and disturbing to everyone else around. Guess they never heard of valve float.

FWIW, my 2020 GMC Sierra AT4 has it, as did my Grand Cherokee SRT, and other rides I have had over the past few years...
China model already has GPF...

That's right, I was talking in general about future 2021/2022+ models, not my car or the EVO in particular as it wouldn't make sense for them to not have this change permanent for all upcoming models as well unfortunately.

So theoretically MY2022 STOs should be affected by this limiter as well or are they excluded because it's a more raw car?
good question... logically i think it will be the exact same and have the same restrictions. The STO is gorgeous, but it has no engine output upgrades.... it has the same HP and Tourque as a Performante. its obviously lighter and more aggressive looking... but in the weight shedding process it has also lost the ALA and AWD. oh and the frunk is gone! i negotiated an allocation with my dealer but later pulled out. beautiful car, but not enough to pay that premium.

^sounds pretty good to me but what are the long term implications of the GPF with the increased engine back pressure? Can't be all that healthy in the long run.

Yes a tad muted on the second one but not horrible.....glad we missed that bullet.
I think you need to hear it in person, that video is useless to me. You need 2 cars side by side with the sound pickup at the same place.

R8 sounds way quieter with GPF, i hope with the Huracan it won't be this bad.

Holy crap! That is pathetic. I think that would be a HUGE disappointment for the Huracan EVO and even the STO given it is the same engine.
I guess when we advertise our EVOs for sale instead of saying 2021 EVO for sale I will say GPF Free 2021 EVO for sale. I wonder if the 2022s in the US will have the GPFs. Then depression set in.........I have that feeling that my 2021 EVO could be a keeper.:unsure:

GT3 cars are limited at like 550hp if I remember correctly and could destroy the best road cars around a track. Aero, grip and braking are part of that equation just as much if not more then HP.

You run into problems when you start pushing the HP more, more HP means larger breaks, better brake coooling (more unsprung mass), larger tyres, tougher/stronger driveline/transmission components that I'd guess would reduce driveline HP draw and throttle response. All of which adds weight that reduces all aspects of dynamics.

We are already at the limit of tyre technology, I bet most of the 640hp going to rear wheels is already struggling to get to ground and TC limited until insane speeds. This isn't a drag car, it's a track car and I think it will beat it's competition at it's intended purpose

If it has GPF and can't be defeated and sounds like ass, I don't want the newest and I'm sure there are more like me.

Agree with @surfah and @Blu Bull maybe it's time to think about taking a break from the upgrade train. New is not always New and Improved.
If the STO has the GPF...Im out ! One of the major reasons I prefer Lambos is for the sound
