Hi, I recently bought a 2013 sts but it didn't come with a backup camera option. The dealer said the older pre-2011 kits don't work on this head unit and I can't find anyone who makes a screen conversion kit for 2011+ head units. They recommended changing the head unit to aftermarket but I didn't want to go that route. He head unit in my car looks identical to previous years since 2004, but they said the insides are different.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. :)

I recommend having a seperate monitor installed just for the back up camera. This way it can be done with minimal headache in figuring out the integration and it will be non-invasive. If you ever part with the car, the system can be removed without permanent effect on the car.

Otherwise, you'll need to locate an electronics specialist with Audi experience. On the newest Audis, a module is required to interface between the camera and head unit.

Once installed, the head unit needs to be re-coded to acknowledge the camera's prescense.

Thank you, that's a great idea! Do you think I could fit an LCD in the glove box? How big you think? Are there wireless lcd's too?

There are wireless back up camera systems, you'll have to dos oem research to figure out which one comes with a monitor to fit in the glvoe box. I'm sure it can be found though.
