Hi recently purchased a 2008 gallardo with egear...now please keep in mind im totally new to the super car world. It's been a dream of mine since I've been a kid.

So my question is....car has roughly 47 000 miles on it.

I notice when im at a stop light and go to accelerate.. I can't do it smoothly. The car seems to want to jump alittle. And also when shifting into second hard the car tends to bog down and hesitate a few seconds , then go.

I also notice in reverse as well...the car is jerky...

Can anyone please lead me to some ideas or if anyone else has experienced the same thing?

I keep.reading about clutches...and how bad these are for them. I really.dont know when it was serviced or have a whole lot of service records on this car.

Get a clutch snap done if you don't already know how much life the clutch has (or know when it was replaced last). Clutch may be slipping a bit in the situations you described.

Now also hitting the paddle to shift to second with a delay.....takes a few seconds to engage
When you open the door of the car and leave it open can you hear the gear pump priming it’s a whirring kind of noise…. does it sound like it’s struggling ? Pulsing ….and does it stay on for a longer period of time

These cars hate to go slow. It takes practice to take of from a stop and if you don‘t do it right it’s almost like popping the clutch in a manual. However it should not bog down when going from 1st to 2nd especially if you are shifting at 5k to 6k. As others have said without a history on the car and with the number of miles you should send the car away and have it gone over to see what the issue is and bring it up to date with service. You probably want to find a good independent shop that knows these cars.

If indeed it is the pump
you can buy them from the manufacturer Magneti Marelli

dealer in Australia charges $8900 for a pump , or you can buy from the manufacturer Magneti Marelli part number 086 901 O37 for around $1100 aud . I just did this with my superleggera and the dealer is fitting ( as they have stated the part is identical to what they sell ) . If it is that part don’t delay as it will leave you stranded in the road !

Ita not pulsating...at all or struggling...maybe on for a slight bit longer...bit not overly noticeable

Also I has to replace the battery 2 days ago due to a bad battery and left me stranded...does that change anything?

Or you can just replace the electric motor on the pump since that's what usually gives out and not the actual pump itself. You can get an upgraded motor for ~$400.00 USD and swap it out with the pump in the car.

Alot of these cars have that issue and it's PERFECTLY NORMAL..

Mine is jerky as hell from take off and I have a new oem clutch, new egear pump, new fluid and new accumulator. It is just normal.

Does yours slightly rev up and down on take off? That is what mine is doing.

I'm going to have the (PIS) clutch bite adjustment done via lara.

I also have a sprint booster, I put it on green 5 and it seems to ease up the "jerky-ness" via take off on 1st gear.

None the less, I have managed to perfect the 1st gear so it won't jerk (or jerk as much) where I can take off smoothly.
