You suspect too much fuel or not enough on a hot start....... Cold start requires rich mixture compared to hot and if the computer thinks it's a cold start again then a rich mixture could cause that on a hot start. If the coolant temperature sensor goes bad it can send a false signal to the computer and throw off the fuel and timing calculations. ... This will cause the computer to think the engine is cold, even when it is not, and as a result will use more fuel than necessary.
Think it's supposed to throw a code for that.....(usually). or, a completely different issue could be fuel pressure. possible leakdown when hot may not set any codes
