I was considering this unit, but there are two aspects of it that kind of bother me:
      1. The buttons are "almost" the same, but different, as compared to the original. This is very personal, but for some reason, this screams "aftermarket replica" to me
      2. This unit brings new tech to our cars, but it still comes with a DVD unit, instead using that space to add more screen real estate
In the meantime, by checking around, I found other Aliexpress units specifically marketed for Audi. There's one in particular that I am very interested in, and which I plan on installing once my car comes back from the car doctor. I thought I'd share it with everyone, in case someone is also interested. Here's the link:

      US $236.96 48% OFF|Carplay 8

The cool stuff with this unit, in my opinion, is:
      1. Mechless, no need for a DVD in 2021
      2. Larger screen as a consequence of the point above
      3. Still keeps physical buttons (a must, considering we don't have steering wheel controls)
      4. The design is completely different than the original, which removes the whole "aftermarket replica" perception - I acknowledge this might be a very personal thing
      5. Can be ordered in 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM + wireless Carplay configuration
The main challenge I found is: by looking at the photos, I don't the sides of this unit can be trimmed. And by checking the measurements, I can confirm it is NOT a direct fit to our cars. However, I also believe that it is possible to trim both plastic side-trim parts in the dash, so that larger unit can be fitted. To go back to OEM, we can also source replacements for these plastic trim parts for around 30 euros at the dealership.

      Anyway, my two cents.

So the unit you pick doesnt look anything like the Lambo unit at all ?
AND it doesnt and will never fit unless you modify the car itself where the radio fits?
And if you ever wanted to go back to the original radio it would look gastly with the modifications made to the surrounding area.
Hell, buy it then, sounds the right thing to do to me!
