LOL....I was sold on the Viper, but then I got distracted with the Gallardo. Hands down the Viper will outperform it, and cheaper new than a 6 year old Gallardo. So all logic says do Viper. But it's something about the "styling" of the Lambo's that make me want to defy logic (a childhood dream). Now my mind is really all over the place. I go back and forth between the two forums, while searching the internet all day everyday trying to wrap my head around what I want.....

Aaaarrrrggghhhh!!!

Kratos, get the Lambo I also owned all gens of Vipers and went through the mods and now own a G spyder my opinion there's nothing like driving a Lambo for overall sensory experience especially a drop top with Fabspeed exhaust. The only thing that came close was the Gen1 Vipers in 93-95 because at the time almost nothing else on road was as outrageous and those cars had a cult following and even a really bad TV show (you know you watched it though :) As for the new SRT I'll wait a couple of years and see what that car does and the market for used ones.

Of course I would love to save the most money possible. I've considered even going back to an 04 model. Is that smart? Would the car still look "hot" after 4 years....in other words how long will it be an eye turner if I get one that old? Then I keep hearing about the clutch stuff. I guess if I get an 04, I would have to make a sure a new clutch is in the deal....?

In regards to the Viper, I'm a newbie in the sports car world, so the pissing matches between the brands don't concern me. For a guy like me, 4.3 sec 0-60 would even be a thrill. I'd bet even 4.7 would be fun. I drive SUV's, LOL.

Wow, she's a beauty. I'm liking the wing! How do I get one to look like that?

Ok, it's official......I've decided to go Gallardo instead of Viper....

Not gonna tell my newfound Viper friends at VCA though.....LOL

This is a 2008 Superleggera, but you can get any year earlier Gallardo and add a wing, new bumper or a whole assortment of options to make it look unique.
There are many vendors here who sell both OEM or aftermarket parts and kewl accessories.
And a lot of guys with incredible knowledge of the car. Not nearly the drama of the Viper site..:)

Awesome, I have a lot of hours of searching to do on this site to learn what you guys have picked up over the years. I've learned that if you can get as much knowledge from the forums before you go to the lot, the outcome of what you get goes muuuuuch better.

First search......vendor threads....

If you want a more updated look on a 04 budget, the first thing to do is to change the front bumper. It is the best bang for the buck in terms of upgrading the look. I have a 06 with the LP 560 bumper, IMO it really stands out when I am parked besides the other G at car meets.

LOL.....I need more knowledge on what to look for. Because of this thread I see lots of deals, but I still need to do more reading with the search engine on this site before I start chasing one.

Don't know if you know this or not, but I'll throw it out there.
Sometimes forum search engines don't let you search for less than 4 letter words and sometimes they bring up weird results.
So when I search a site like this, I use google. Put this in your google inquiry exactly:

site:http://www.lamborghini-talk.com XXX

with the XXX being the phrase words you are looking for.
It will search the entire site quickly and can find the smallest of phrases. If you already know this...sorry..:) I didn't.

Wow, didn't know that. Thanks. That should make my searching much easier. Hopefully I'll find what I need. I've learned over the years that forums don't like newbies asking too many questions that have talked about to death. I've seen newbies get treated very badly for it.
