Full coverage with AAA (CA), about $2,300/year. This is with many discounts and a very clean record. I'm in my 50's. I think it is a little steep since I only paid $1,500 for my 00 360 with the same coverage.
$2,100 a year with Geico, but just sent info to Hagerty 48 hours ago because they gave me a good price on my track car- waiting to get quote from Hagerty
I pay $5,800/year with $1,000 deductible for my 2005 Gallardo and my 2003 Range Rover, combined. I'm with Progressive, but I didn't have many options. I have an horrific driving record: no accidents or DUIs in my entire driving career, but I've accumulated many piddling speeding tickets over the last 3-4 years.
At first, they didn't know what to do with a Lamborghini, but I kept asking to speak to people higher up the food chain until I found someone to get it sorted.
Interesting! I kept reading all these "low" quotes and wondering why $4000+ is what Progressive quoted me. Then I see this post and notice you have progressive too!!
I don't have much on my record but I do have nonesense like parking tickets and one speeding ticket. Maybe 2-3 other speeding tickets in the last 7 years.
Also, I got put on hold a LONG time. They could not even pull up lamborghini in the computer. Lady said in 7 years, she had only done 1-2 other lambos. lol
When I was 21, Progressive gave me an online quote of $8600/yr for my brand new Yamaha R1. Pretty bad especially since the bike was only $10k off the show room. Went to another place in person and got $95 a year, same (full) coverage and deductible. Quite the difference.
$44,000? that's pretty funny. My dealer recommended a broker, but the best they could do on their own was $7,000/year. My driving was a much bigger deal than the MSRP of my car. Someone driving a Murci with no tickets will pay far less for the same policy than I'd pay on a Toyota with all my speeding tickets.
GallardoBob -- if you have a clean driving record, Gallardo insurance shouldn't be expensive at all. Try AAA -- they require a clean driving record (one or fewer violations in the last 3-5 years), but they are very competitive.
I am mid 30's - I pay 1400 per year with Chubb for my Gallardo... I have about 800 things with them - houses, cars, single item insurance etc... So they do a discount for multiline insurance... However anything over 2500 with no priors - is a ton...
I do a 5K deductible for the exotics - btw - that will lower you by 1 +K per year... My thoughts are anything under 5K I am going to pay for myself - to keep rates lower.
I pay about $1800 with State Farm for a 2005 Gallardo (full coverage, $1K deductibles), but I have no tickets and no accidents in my 30 years of driving.

How can you drive for 30yrs and have no tickets? And drive a Lamborghini??!!
The only problem with slightly lower rates from "standard" insurance companies (Allstate, State Farm, etc.) is that you can assure yourself a battle when it comes down to a (heaven forbid) large claim. Whereas, with companies like Haggerty your policy has an "agreed" value to be paid for a loss from the "get go"; there will be no negotiating. An ounce of prevention.....

This is very helpful - thanks, all. I am also doing some research to purchase a Gallardo. This forum has been invaluable.
I was recently quoted $3123 (6 mo) by Allstate - details below. This includes an 8% discount for also insuring my 2002 Mazda Tribute with them. I'm 36 and live in northern CA, and those were other factors affecting this price.
COVERAGE LIMITS PREMIUMS
AA Bodily Injury 100/300 285.97
BB Property Damage 100 Included
DD Collision 1000 DED 2,090.82
HH Comprehensive 1000 DED 704.83
SS UM/UIM Bodily Injury 100/300 41.63
Now, I was also told that if I purchased homeowners insurance from them (about $10-$20 a month), they would take an additional 10% off the car insurance. That's not a bad deal at all.
If anyone has any other tidbits, please feel free to share.
Progresive is a complete ripoff, Gieco would not insure my gallardo in illinois,
45 yr w/clean record. pay $2,200.00 with state farm.... btw all my other cars are with Gieco.
Hi guys, I've been browsing here for a while but to be honest the idea of posting in a Lamborghini forum is rather intimidating. So here goes for post number 1...
I just purchased a 2005 Gallardo and I am having trouble finding insurance for it here in Honolulu, Hawaii. I currently insure my less exciting cars with Geico and my bikes with State Farm. I emailed customer service at geico and the rep told me they are unable to insure "this type of vehicle". If anyone could give me advice on working with them I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Congrats! Great time to introduce yourself and show pics on a new thread if you can.
Why don't you insure the Gallardo with State Farm?...they are used to insuring exotics. Forget GEICO...it's like asking them to insure an alien spacecraft.
Like LamboGator stated, State Farm is a good choice from what I know. There is a member on here who lives in Hawaii. Russk is his username. I am sure if you shoot him a PM he would be able to point you in the right direction as well.
Good luck with insuring and congrats on your new car!
