Huracan Tires drama - Good information for newbies!!!
Sooo....after 3000 miles I got a nail in the side wall and a slow leak.
So, I go to Discount Tire and they tell me a few things.
A) Can't fix tire since it's near side wall
B) Even though it is a Pirelli P-Zero 20" and they can order one with same treadwear and all, Lamborghini has their own OEM version that as far as I can tell is no different at all...except it has a 1" Circle with cursive L logo on the sidewall. This can only be bought at Lamborghini. They also told me some myths I want to dispell.
a) Lamborghini requires all 4 tires be replaced at same time when one is on the 4 wheel drive version. (Lambo said it is recommended but not required)
b) Warranty is voided is not adhering to a or if not using the cursive L tires. Also dispelled but Lamborghini.
C) Lamborghini charges about $320 for tire. Not so bad...except the bill comes to over $500/tire for their "service" of putting one on.
D) Lamborghini does not include a lug nut key to take tires off. However, I have read that a standard T80 Torx will work. I saw one at Summit Racing for $16 shipped. I have not tested it however.
Hope this helps.
Bottom line...Lamborghini wants your service dollars...

Welcome to the world of "Lambo Tax".
The fact your car is under warranty may be an issue but its not the end of the world.
You will need two tyres minimum but you wouldn't want two tyres brand new and two tyres at 2 or 3 mm tread left as an example as this may upset the all wheel drive system, cant you simply buy the "Lambo" tyres and get the other shop to fit them?
When I wanted tyres from Lambo they wanted twice the price of other tyre shops and threatened me that if I didnt buy tyres from them they would not let me drive on any race tracks in NZ and take the price off the tyres if I ever traded it in with them - arseholes.
Never had any problems with the Pirellis I sourced elsewhere.
I am here to learn as much as I can before I purchase my first Lamborghini. Huracan is my first choice and my time frame is next 12 to 18 months. My two kids are living on their own now so we will downsize house first and then sell the Lotus and the Porsche before I purchase my Huracan.
I look forward to learn as much as I can.
Thank you
Would someone advise me how to replace the oem horn with an air horn in a Huracan. I would like to know where the horn is located and how to access it. I think I can replace it if I knew where it's located. I did this in my Ferrari.
Hello....Thank you for the add.....Looking to buy a Gallardo and become a Lambo Guy...Already a Viper Guy...Will be making the next step and have one on the road this spring...Can't Wait......
I recently purchased a 2005 Lamborghini Murcielago. It had 2700 miles when I purchased it. I have driven it about 200 miles and it now sounds like the lifters are knocking. Any thoughts?
