![]() Lamborghini isn't commenting, but several photos of a new model from the exotic Italian automaker have wound up on the web. These pictures are reportedly of a new rear-drive version of the Gallardo LP560 - and they certainly do look official. The name of the car also leaked out and is reported to be called the LP550-2 – with the number "2" signifying it is a two-wheel, or rear-drive, machine. As the name also suggest, this car will be slightly less powerful than it's all-wheel drive sibling, with 550hp, as opposed to 560hp. Performance of the LP550-2 would no doubt be superior, however, as the two-wheel drive version is likely to weigh several hundred pounds less. All well and good, but the internet stories lean towards the fact that this car will be priced 10% less than the standard version of the car !! So, an improved model, for way less money, in the first year of its production ? That turns me off as an owner of their products; re-sale prices are crappy enough without the factory helping to stab it's customers in the back !

It's a panic ploy on their part. The point is, who wants premium level cars from a manufacturer that does that to it's customers after six months on the marketplace (if this turns out to be correct)? Did they hire Bernie Madoff as the Director of Marketing. ![]() |

No. No. No. It's my second Gallardo; to me it's just the principle of it all. They (H.Q.) just keep messing with 'ya'. First my dealer went belly-up, and they leave you high and dry; now this crap. They do make it hard to feel warm and fuzzy about the company, nowadays. |
