I wanted to give a very short review of a new shop in Columbus, Ohio: Craig Reed of Studio 47 and Todd Cooperider of Esoteric Auto Detail. I’m the first to give mechanics grief when things go south so its a pleasure to be writing something positive for a change. Both of these gentlemen have been in the business of highline cars for years and recently joined forces. I have found it so very hard to get highly quality work done – regardless of cost (at some places I expected to hear “Looks like you’re gonna need a new ‘Johnson Rod’”) – that it is like a dream come true to find people like Craig and Todd that share, if not eclipse, my obsession. My Murci had a few “annual services” but I was uncertain as to what it really needed – Craig looked it over and gave me a thorough list of his suggestions – and I opted for a few additional things. The work was done on time and on budget – Craig picked the car up himself and even called me after it was returned to me to ask how it was performing. I can’t remember the last time someone called me to ask “so was my work up to your expectations”? It was – and while I would rather drive it than have it serviced, I have no anxiety anymore about who will be doing my mechanical work in the future. And the detail? It was awesome – I thought it was pretty nice going in but I had no idea just how fantastic it would look when it came home. I am attempting to attach a link that Todd put up on his website showing some before/after pics. Blue Monterey is a difficult color to photograph but these are the best shots I have ever seen. So enough gushing….simply put, great, honest, service at a reasonable price.
