Gary,
That's why I always say that you should do a Pre Purchase Inspection. You would have spent a few hundred dollars on the inspection and saved yourself $23,000 and all the aggrevation that you're going thru.
I had a customer who wanted to buy a Murci and thought inspection is not necessary since it only had 5K miles.I convinced him to do it.So we did the Inspection on it and found out the clutch was bad and needed 2 shocks. The transmission was also bad (synchros)It had all kind of electrical problems. It needed close to $30,000 of work.Needless to say he didn't buy the car because if he did,he would have lost close to $30k.

Yes, good advice to do a pre-purchase inspection. I relied too much on Teague Motorsports being a licensed, bonded motor vehicle dealer in Virginia.
Here's what the other side of the clutch looked like:

Ok guys..let me set the record straight!
I flew to Ft. Lauderdale (back in June '06) to look at a car that salesman Gary claimed "Gloria Estefan's husband own the car." This is what the ad on Dupont Registry read:
Ladies and Gentlemen! Domani Motors of South Florida are very pleased to announce that we have aquired yet another of the highly sought after Lamborghini Diablo Roadster! The Italian Superstar just came out of the service department of another Lamborghini dealer and has had a complete major service including a new clutch, belts, brakes, valve adjustments, and brand new tires, nothing was left undone! We are certian that there is not a finer Roadster in existence! This PERFECT car has only 7374 miles (11868km), and absolutely no wear and tear! Paint is a perfect 10, Leather is a 10, console and switches are a 10, tires are a 10, wheels are a 10, starting to get the picture yet?! Finished in Blu Chiaro Blue over Graphite Leather seats and featuring the optional rear wing, this car will stop traffic on any street in the world. Also, this car has a Stainless Exhaust System that just further complements the song produced by the raging V-12 sitting right behind your head! Do not miss this rare opportunity to own a perfect example of one of only 200 Roadsters ever built by Lambo. Thank you for looking and Best of luck to everyone. - Contact Sales Department for more information. Toll-Free: 866-666-3362 Phone: 954-428-5636 or Email:

Not one rock chip on the front. It was too good to be true. I then ask for the paperwork on all of the repairs. (The new scam is placing in the ad..."just came out of the service dept. at a Lamborghini Dealership.")
I was then told by Gary and the the Manager of Domani Motors that "paperwork wasn't all that important and that people buy these cars over the internet all the time."
$20k - $30K worth of repairs ...and no paperwork to show? Explain that one to me Kevin (KAOSS). I thouht those guys should at least pay for my flight down there! No such luck! I'm a fair man and I just wanted a fair deal!

There are good car dealers out there but you don't know which ones,so it's a good idea to do your homework before buying the car. These are expensive cars and expensive to work on.You save money by doing the research.

GETTING BACK ON TOPIC: Well, I finally got an email from John Teague AFTER he got my complaint from the Better Business Bureau. Turns out he got to read this thread and was not all too happy! His email was rambling and foolish and apparently I hurt his feelings by exposing him as a fraud and con-man -- really no serious offer to settle out of court and the email was not worth responding to.
I'm no longer looking forward to getting the car repaired. Teague has really let me down -- For a few days after all this started I had originally hoped that he might have made an honest mistake somehow and would do the right thing and either take his car back and refund me the money or pay me for restoring it to the "mint" condition it was advertised as. No such luck.

I'm trying hard to not let John Teague sour my fondness of Lamborghinis, but it's proving difficult.

Looking on the bright side of life (http://www.geocities.com/fang_club/B..._of_life.html), I'm doing my best to limit John Teague from ripping off other buyers: the DuPont Registry has agreed not to carry any more ads from him, ebay has been advised, I've reported him to the BBB, the Virginia Motor Vehicle Dealer Board is investigating, I've lodged a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, and I have a lawyer in Vancouver and Virginia.

AND, when I Google "Teague Motorsports" THIS thread comes in number one! I hope my efforts will succeed in informing potential future customers of Teague about my experience so they can avoid this old school used car salesman like the plague!

Also, there is a clear connection with Ben Daniels and Boston Hot Wheels as well: further information as it comes in.

P.S. John Teague, if you're reading this thread, it's NOT slanderous to call a liar a liar, a crook a crook, a con-man and a fraud a con-man and a fraud -- all of the above, for the record, I am absolutely accusing you of being. Look up slander (I think you might have meant libel) and I hope you can figure it out.

Gary,

Sorry about your experience, but it reminds me to be cautious as I have had conversations with this particular dealer in the past.

Feel good knowing that you are alerting the community at large to be cautious of this dealer which are the results a dealer like this should expect.

I hope everything continues to workout for you!

When I purchased a Ferrari from an exotic stealer (dealer) down in Florida, I had the car checked out by another dealer and was given a clean bill of health. The car arrived with a cracked side panel. The fix was not anywhere near your experience, but it reminds me that regardless of the price point we're shopping in, there are jerks everywhere!

Dave

Now somethings wrong with the differential. This bloody nightmare....

The seller just replied to the BBB and offered no settlement. He stated that I said that I called him two days after getting the car and said the car "drove great," and that I called him several times "with threats and screaming." All a bunch of B.S. He didn't mention the ads, his lies, his fake phone number, etc. etc.
Anyways, I've got better things to do and will let the lawyers handle this crook.

I am not trying to add to your problems but if I were you I would check that rear main seal while you got things apart, it seams a little oily in that picture. Best of Luck Sincerely Vic

Vic (RedLambo),
Thanks. The seal was rotted and also has to be replaced.
