I need to warn everyone about the fraudsters at John Teague Motorsports, as I have at lamborghini chat here:Anyone know this Diablo? - Page 3 - FerrariChat.com
I bought a 1991 lamborghini Diablo from them and my inital enthusiasm is on this thread: Picked up my 1991 Diablo today!!! - Lamborghini Forum Ended up being a $23,000 repair job, including $13,000 for a clutch repair that was supposed to have been done, as shown here: http://www.drautos.com/Search/DRauSe...?itemid=316810 The original ebay ad is here: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1 I spoke to the seller, John Teague, over 10 days ago and he told me to fax him the repair bill. Since then, he failed to pick up his phone, or respond to the fax or emails I sent him. FINALLY, just moments ago, I got hold of John Tegue after calling him. Actually, I was calling the number given as the orginal seller's, but the message was the same one as that on John Teague's number! Being confused (am I that stupid?), I called the other number, and then him again, and finally he decided to pick up: ______________ Me: Is this John Tegue? [I recognized the voice] Him: Yes Me: , I bought the Diablo off you. Haven't you gotten any of my messages or emails or fax I sent you? Him. No. Me: Oh come on. Of course you have This number is the same as Ben Daniels, or Ben World as he called himself. What kind of scam is this? I expect some compensation for the repair work I've had to do on the car. HIm: I didn't sell you the car. Me: you're the guy on the bill of sale, I wired the money to your account. You are responsible. I'm calling Ben Daniels, or whoever you call him, and you pick up. Do you really want me to take this to court, the BBB, the attorney General's office-- Him: Yes, you do that! Me: You really want me to do that? Doesn't your reputation mean anything to you? Him: silence Me: Fine! If that's the way you want it, you sonofa*****, that's the way it will be. Him: silence [still on the line] Me: I hang up. ______________ Up to that point, I had been extremely polite but enough's enough! The fraudsters #1: John Teague at Teague Motorsports, teaguemortorsports on ebay. Teague Motorsports Ltd. 1921 East Washington Street Petersburg, Virginia, 23803 804-732-9150 804-832-9151 fax Fraduster #2: Ben Daniels, a.k.a. Ben World. Some affiliation with Hot Wheels Boston. 30 Lyman Road Chestnut Hill, MA 02467 (actual current phone number unavailable; phone numbers from google residential are out of service). phone number given on ad was 804-706-6194, which actually gets you John Teague. ___________________ Anybody living there and wanting to see these guys in person, be my guest! I'm open to advice. --Gary Last edited by GaryS : 07-24-2008 at 12:53 AM. Reason: My family feels threatened due to recent post from "someone" (guess who!) wishing my kid and myself had died in an accideent. |

That's what the "Dealer Rating" section is for which is where this thread will end up.
By the way, were you furnished any documentation of the claimed service? Would be a must on a car of this age and miles otherwise kind of risky. Last edited by raymondo : 11-05-2006 at 07:19 PM. |

Thanks. No, no documentation was sent with the car but it was supposed to be. I was going to put this in the dealer section, but it said "Authorized" lamborghini dealers and Teague Motorsports is definately not, so I thought I'd put it in general discussion. To the moderator: please move it where it's most appropriate, thanks.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal. I know this guy recently sold a Testarossa and a 308 as well, I wonder how those transactions went. This guy sounds like a real %$^kface. Here I was getting excited about somone selling exotics relatively nearby...

Gary,
I know you feel like you got ripped, but for what you paid you should have been suspect. And although you paid $23,000 extra, I don't think you lost very much in the end. Now you know what you should have before you purchase it. You should feel good that it wasn't worse. Your car is in great shape...good luck! |

Sorry to hear about your experience... there are quite a few out there doing crap like this. I have never heard of these guys however.
I am with SI Lambo... you might not be "that bad" overall... what do you have into the car total? The clutch.. was there anything left of the lining? (wondering if it seperated or was burned down to the cluch disk) Last edited by andrew8896 : 11-06-2006 at 07:01 AM. |
