Your thoughts?? is this to compete with the R-8? Looks like the same engine.....http://www.worldcarfans.com/spyphoto...rototype-spied

that link didnt work
try this instead: http://www.worldcarfans.com/spyphoto...rototype-spied

anyways i looked thru the site and saw it. I think if they do go ahead with a V-8 they shuld change the styling, it would be boring & uncreative if it looked exactly like the gallardo

I doubt it. Seems like they just wanted to make a story out of a Lambo photo. Tabloid style!

I doubt that Lamborghini will go and make a V8 Gallardo. Audi and Lamborghini must make sure that they are offering different cars. I bet that if Lamborghini produced a V8 powered Lambo it would cannibalize on sales for the R8, the same as if Audi would produce a V10 powered R8S (or whatever the automotive journalists are calling the V10 version these days).
In an interview with Stephan Winkelmann about Lamborghini’s future and in it he talked about Lamborghini wanting to reveal a new model or an evolution of a new model each year.

Still I think that the best bet is that the Lambo being tested at The Ring is an evolution of the V10 engine, maybe with a new exhaust system on it.

I really hope lambo doesn't go this route. I already feel like they sold out by producing the affordable gallardo that shares parts with audi, although I understand why they did it.
If someone can't afford a lambo or ferrari or porsche or mercedes, instead of making a cheaper one , just let them buy something else.
In my opinion it's a slap in the face to the flagship owners because they paid for a rare high performance exotic. Cheaper models and higher production numbers saturate the market with the brand.
I remember seeing a lambo on the road was a once in every 10 years experience. Now I see gallardo's weekly. It takes away some of the awe of seeing a lambo, at least for me it does.

Either way by looking at the link it just looks like they are doing an lp640-ish upgrade for the gallardo.

No they wont do that, that would just be one of the stupidest things they could do, why even make a R8 then?

I'd like the idea IF it was an exclusive Lamborghini V8. That would be MUCH more valuable than the current model. But it'll never happen. Just dreamin.
