Sab is right - Clarkson does frequently contradict himself.

There was a Top Gear 'special' on Lamborghini some while ago and the Murcielago was found to be the fastest around their test track. I think the general editorial tone is that they love Porsche 911 and Ferrari 360 and Enzo and they sometimes love Lamborghini! They love/hate Astons and Jaguars in equal measure, so I wouldn't take anything they say too seriously, it's an amusing program full of boyish pranks and should be taken at that level.....

In the 'special', Clarkson hailed the Murci as the best car Lamborghini have ever made, and the Miura as the most beautiful 'car' ever made. But then, in a previous show, he hailed the Aston DB7 as the most beautiful 'thing' ever created by man?

It was overall a good show for L-cars and he blamed the fall of the 'rock star' for any slip in the brand. i.e. "Could you imagine Norah Jones turning up at a party and crashing an LM002 into a swimming pool... just for fun?"

He said he 'wanted to hate the Gallardo', and report that Lamborghini had 'sold it's soul to Audi'... but he just couldn't... it was 'fantastic!!!', handles like a fly!, it was "like a big Lotus Elise!' He said in every respect it was a better car than an F-car but, then he went on to say that it lacked the 'sense of occasion you get when you step into a 360'. "There is only one 'Harry Potter' and this isn't it".

He definitely likes Lambos! But then, hes a bit of a wannabe 'bad boy' and Lamborghini IS the Darth Vader of supercars!

The UK presenter that really doesn't like Lambo's is Tiff Needell from Channel 5's 'Fifth Gear'. He's an F-car man, and a BMW 'M' man. Likes Rear wheel drive and is critical of anything that isn't. It's nice to not be blinkered like that!

Andy

Your're right about Tiff Andy. I was amazed at the negative ending to the Murcielago test (do you remember the green one he drove). He went on about the fact that as it was now AWD it lacked something. GOD! You can't win!! I think Tiff only likes power sliding around corners and anything that stops him doing that is obviously not worthy.....

That about sums it up! I did see the green Murci test he did on 5th gear. It was all going so well and then...? He finished the show by telling us that next week, he was going to test a 'real' supercar. The Zonda S. He did exactly the same with the orange G-car. As he pulled back into the factory after a day in the hills of Italy, he said 'If you've been saving hard for your first £100+ supercar... I wouldn't cancel your order for that 360 Modena! At least Clarkson admitted that the handling was 'fantastic!'.

So it made me laugh when Tiff went to test the Enzo. And was only allowed to do 2 laps of their track (and was told to keep the traction control on).

I think they are definitely all being banged by the horse. Sadly, so is Vicky Butler Henderson .
