Now I can tell you guys a little more about my experience at Centro Stile
last summer. I saw the Miura's side last summer at Centro Stile! I was upstairs at the railing with my son and Luc looking down on the first floor of Centro Stile where the new cars are on display for evaluation. The 2nd floor of Centro Stile is where the office of the chief designer is as well as the workstations the designers use. The Miura was along the back wall on the first floor. It was in this color. I never saw the back or the front. But I am ahead of myself a little. I was in a stupor at the time, completely overwhelmed!, as I had just taken the factory tour (and I was high from that!) and they went to great lenghts to make sure no Gallardo Spyders were in the plant when our group went through (if you recall the Gallardo Spyder wasn't announced till the fall and I was at the plant in July). In fact there was a Gallardo up on a hoist in the plant during the tour, situated in such a manner that it looked like it didn't have a roof! Some of us were getting even more excited that we might be seeing a Gallardo Spyder! So Christina our tour guide, went ahead and checked it out first, with a very concerned look on her face. She came back smiling that we were lucky the tour didn't have to end - as the car was really a coupe and not a spyder. Whew!! Anyway. After the factory tour, when I got an opportunity to go to Centro Stlile, I was dumbfounded as there to the left, looking down onto the first floor, from the 2nd floor railing inside Centro Stile, was a BEAUTIFUL Gallardo Spyder in a kind of a mint green, staring me right in the face! Luc asked what I thought. I said it was beautiful! I was dumbfounded at what was before me! So I was staring at it not believing my eyes! Overwhelmed by the beauty and that fact that I had the privilege to see it. Plus i was there with my son and the Chief Designer of Lamborghini! Luc tapped me on the arm and said, "did you see that?". He was pointing to the right, to the other end of Centro Stile. There was the MIURA !! If you guys can imagine the overload at that moment! I said: "Oh my God!", or something like that! He just smiled with a big grin! Luc told me at the time that the Miura was his pet project ! Let me tell you, this guy is talented!!!! Thought you guys might like to hear the story. Oh, by the way, there was more on that first floor that I can't talk about yet! ![]() Lamborghini - Heaven on Earth - And where Dreams are made !! Larry |

Well if Luc did design the new Miura he had better speak up articles on both italiaspeed.com and lamboweb.com are claiming that it is entirely the work of De Silva!

Here's the article I found on coneptcarz.com
The House of the Raging Bull brings back a legendary name from the company's past with the breathtaking 'Lamborghini Miura Concept'. The 'Lamborghini Miura Concept' will be the first Lamborghini vehicle to be conjured from the talented pen of Walter de' Silva, Head of Lamborghini Design. de' Silva's other design responsibilities include serving as Head of Design of Audi Group. The talented designer's idea for the new concept was simple: a retro-inspired look heralding back to one of the auto world's most famous icons, the legendary Miura. Automobili Lamborghini anxiously begins the New Year with the highly anticipated unveiling of the 'Lamborghini Miura Concept,' a modern interpretation of the Lamborghini Miura. Currently celebrating its 40th Anniversary, the Miura was originally designed by Marcello Gandini and was first publicly presented at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show by Ferruccio Lamborghini and Nuccio Bertone. To this day, the Miura remains one of the most beautiful cars ever created. The new concept model, which as of now, is strictly a concept with no firm date set for its production launch, is the inspired creation of de'Silva, the world-famous Italian designer. He has redesigned every aspect of the car while remaining absolutely faithful to the original form. The new car retains the extraordinary purity of line characteristic of the original Miura: the designer's intervention has been defined by refining the contours and eliminating any superfluous detail in order to enhance the clean, simple lines and perfectly-balanced proportions of the original that so impassioned enthusiasts. The restyling of the lower part of the body takes the car's structural strength and aerodynamic performance to new heights, without disturbing the delicate aesthetic equilibrium. Even the touches of contemporary styling applied to the interior, the lights, and the wheels have been carefully measured to achieve a homogenous design that is both timeless and immediately recognisable. And so a true design icon is reborn. 'Over the last two years,' explains Walter de' Silva, 'I have often dreamt of redesigning the Miura. Now, thanks to my new position at the head of Lamborghini design and the enthusiastic support of the Lamborghini CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, I have been able to turn that dream into a reality.' The 'Lamborghini Miura Concept' will be on show at the Lamborghini stand at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
