Default More on the Lagartijo!

Wednesday 15th June 2005

Shock Name For New Lambo

There's no let-up at Lamborghini. Auto Express broke exclusive news of the Espada-inspired 2+2 in Issue 840, and we can now confirm more details - including the name. Our exclusive pictures in this week's issue prove the car will be called the Lagartijo.
The move will disappoint enthusiasts who had hoped the evocative Espada badge would be reborn. Instead, the sleek four-seater will take its name from the fabled Spanish matador who spared the life of the courageous bull Murciélago. This is an appropriate choice; the creature has already given its name to the company's £162,000 coupé.
There are obvious similarities with the legendary Sixties
Espada, including two doors and pronounced overhangs. Other elements include the near-flat rear windscreen, which is tipped to hinge as a hatch, giving access to a sizeable boot.
The newcomer features carbon fibre construction, keeping weight to a minimum. Power will be taken from the Murciélago's 6.2-litre V12, delivering 620bhp. Sales are expected to begin in 2009, with the car costing an estimated £180,000. Ferrari's current 2+2, the V12 Scaglietti, carries a £170,500 price tag.
According to our sources, development of the GT means that a proposed SUV from Lamborghini - to be based on Audi's forthcoming Q7 - is now unlikely.

Well, I think the design looks good, and the chosen name as something..mystic. I like it.
Anyway, as some of you guys already pointed it, let's hope it is not the start of a mass production business by Audi. This is a letter I found on a french site, written by an American Ferrari owner...no comment. Just hope Lamborghini will stay the ''thing everyone knows about but never saw''...

I happen to be that 'American Owner' who is having a problem with the prostitution of the Ferrari brand. That is one of the reasons that I will buy Lambo this time. There is a Gallardo in my future as well as an LM002.

I have had alot of exotics...they all have been driven hard on the street as well as the track.

I am not sure what your meaning of "no comment" is after my nationality. If its even a thought about being a poser I suggest that you ride that bucket of rice back to Singapore and not ASSUME anything. Because when you ASS UME, you just make an ASS out of yourself.

Ciao............Dino

Dino,

The 'no comment' stands for...'no comment about the letter', or 'no comment about what Ferrari owners feel about what's going on in Ferrari business', or 'no comment about Ferrari image', etc... as this letter speaks by itself.
That was definitively, not a comment about American nationality...
I have been living and working around the world for 12 years now Algeria, Nigeria, Iran, Venezuela, Thailand, USA, Malaysia, Sweden, etc...and honestly, I don't give a s** about nationalities and ''villages war'' (and I guess no one here does...), and I don't give a s** about politics...I learned to be respected, and above all, to respect the people I am living with and appreciate them as they are (yes, you can be very busy and very rich, and still take time to learn about each other...). I am a citizen of the world, and do my best not to be polluted by any propaganda, and not to carry any flag...ever. I'm a free man.
The detail about this guy (of course, I didn't know it was you) being American was just to place the action, nothing more. As you may have noticed there are guys from all over the world on this forum, everyone having his own experience, his own culture and his own way of seeing things. Isn't it what makes this forum so interesting ?

If you were not sure about the meaning (which you got wrong), you shoud have dropped the ''bucket of rice'' thing, pretty rude, and way out of line. You should NOT have ASSUMED the meaning was against you or any American..cos obviously, it wasn't...

As for being an Ass...well, just the fact that I take time to answer you proves that you're right..I am

And hummnn..I almost forgot...Nice to meet you Dino...welcome to the Lamborghini lovers WebSite...Gallardo is a good choice.

Ciao

Anyone who can come clean and move to Lamborghini is okay with me. its all a big misunderstanding on the no comment issue. Why fight a fellow bull lover? Dino, perhaps you misunderstood his post....
