Default Interesting comments by VW

I never copy threads from another forum but this is important.

http://news.windingroad.com/earnings...ghini-bugatti/

Could it be that VW doesn't see a future in gas guzzling super cars? I'd love to see them divest itself of Lamborghini but could be perilous to it's future.

I wouldnt worry about one small comment from on board member, Lamborghini is more profitable then it has ever been and it seems sales are just going to be going higher in these next few years.

And why would Porsche want to sell Lamborghini, it would just make a possibility to have more competition for them.

Good point's, but NOW may be the best time to sell before full blown "GREENING" takes root. No pun intended.

Did you know Porsche makes the most profit per vehicle more than any manufacture out there? I think its something insane like 20k per a car, and others like BMW, Audi are making 2k per a car.

Anyways, I really hope that they don't do this. I love VAG(Volkswagen/Audi Group) ... hence my name

VAG has the best cars in my opinion...

Audi
Bentley
Bugatti
Lamborghini
SEAT - not sold in North America
Škoda - not sold in North America
Volkswagen

How much do you figure they make on a Murcielago? I have no idea.
IMHO Porsche's are toys too. Nice toys.
I'm not too keen on seeing Lamborghini sold, at least not before I know who's buying...

I believe they don't make much or any money from Murcielagos.... its the Gallardos where they find profits, isn't it?

Sports car manufactures, or sports cars in general usualy don't make good profits.

Yes that is true.

And the Murcielago is not intended as a car to bring in profit, your not gonna make a profit off a car you only build a few hundred of a year, thats what the Gallardo is for thats the exact reason why they have a less powerful/"high" production number car.

Porsches I consider to be toys as well but then again they can be driven much more practically then a Lamborghini or of course a Veyron, and they are the perfect "mid-life crises car" for anyone who can't afford a Lamborghini/Ferrari.

And the "Going Green" movement I dont think is gonna affect sales of these cars so much, they dont build that many of them so there is always enough people to buy the cars, some people just aren't to worried about Global Warming. Of course with gas prices rising it seems every week there going to have to start getting somwhat better fuel economy but I dont see them becoming Hybrids anytime soon.

Edit:
I personally think it would be very interesting if BMW bought Lamborghini, I love BMW and they have very good engineers, just as long as Chris Bangle does not touch the design at all But still I love where Automobili Lamborghini is right now and would like it to stay where it is for as long as it can.
