So far these are the best tests I've seen for the LP640

Autobild LP640 results:

0-100 km/h (62 mph): 3.3s
0-160 km/h (100 mph): 7.6s
0-200km/h (124 mph): 11.1s
0-250 km/h (155 mph): 18.5s
0-300 km/h (186 mph ): 33.3s
402.34m (1/4 mile): 11.46s
top speed: 342 km/h (212.4 mph)

Compare to the old 580 hp Murcielago:

0-100 km/h (62 mph): 3.6s
0-200km/h (124 mph): 11.4s
0-300 km/h (186 mph ): 34.2s
400m (1/4 mile): 11.54s

I'm still waiting for a better test of the LP640. 11.46 seconds for the 1/4 mile time is pretty good, but only a tenth of a second quicker than the 580 hp Murcielago (Quattroruote and Auto Italia tested 11.56 and 11.54 seconds for the 580 hp Murcielago, respectively). I think they can shave a few seconds off yet.

Another good test was by Auto Motor and Sport (also a German magazine). They tested a bunch of supercars. Here is the video (its in German):

0-200 km/h (124 mph): 11.2s
0-300 km/h (186 mph): 31.8s
top speed: 340 km/h (211 mph)

The 599 GTB was faster to 200 and 300 kmh in the Auto, Motor, und Sport test.

0-100 km/h (62 mph): 3.5s
0-200 km/h (124 mph): 10.3s
0-300 km/h (186 mph): 29.9s
top speed: 340 km/h (211 mph)

As I said before I think the LP640 could imrpove its times, but the 599 is quite a car.

I didn't like the 599 GTB at first either, but it is growing on me

BTW, Motor Trend found the curb weight of the LP640 was 4046 lbs., almost exactly the same weight as the old Murcielago. So you can be sure the extra 60 hp is all improvement and no make-up for weight gain!

MT's review was good, although their numbers weren't that great (They got slightly better numbers from a 580 hp Murcielago and very similar numbers from a Diablo 6.0 a few years back):

as regards the 599, it's the opposite with me, i liked it at first, been liking it less and less the more i see it.

I rode in a yellow LP640 when I was at Road & Track magazine the first week of December. Quite a bit of lag trying to hookup on launch, but once it sticks it pulls hard, really hard.
