I did not know the Countach was that slow in the 1/4 mile, not that that is a measure of any car, but still surprised!

That is sort of a crappy time, but you never know who was testing the car, especially in those days.

in an italian test a QV was good for 5.8 sec. 0-100 Km/h, 290 Km/h top speed
in an other one an anniversary .......4.9 sec. 0-100Km/h, 298 Km/h top speed

from what i have seen test of countach give very different results,
and it is the same for early diablo
i have seen 20, 5 sec. for 0-1000 m. for a VT (492HP)
and 22,2 for a 91 2WD

I have 2 mags. with 0-60 times for the Countach in 4.7 sec. In one of them the euro model did the 1/4mile in 12.9 sec. In one of them the driver was Phil Hill.

If you read the article, it says that their European spec Countach probably did not have 450 hp, and they calculated that it had about 370 hp. They say in the article that the Euro spec did 12.8s in 1/4 mile, and the U.S. spec was a "tick slower," although 13.3s is not really a "tick slower." It must have had even less hp.

It seems to be very common for Countaches not to be running at their full potential. Does anyone know why there are so many QV's that are running with less than 400 hp? Is it just the build quality?

I measured my QV with a GTech pro in 2002 with 340 rwp, that was before we fixed the leaking valves and head gasket, with stock ignition.

I didn't realize the Countach held that much oil! YIKES!! 16.2 quarts! I thought my 1980 Maserati 4Porte was bad at 12.5 quarts!

You just got to love those Italian deep sump engines!
