Be careful since I assume you're talking about doing this on public roads. You can get one helluva ticket not to mention cause great harm to yourself, your car or maybe someone else.
I strongly suggest finding a track day, getting some instruction, and trying it on a closed course. It's much more relaxing to go high speed on a race track where you don't have to worry about opposing traffic or police. |

312.3 kph, or 194 mph
![]() Achieved at this event: Race the Base Ultimate Speed Challenge Event Presented by ZR Auto and the Canadian Forces - fantastic charity event, involving 1-mile head-to-head race, 2-mile top speed run, wet drifting course, and "Time Attack"Autocross course. What a blast! I was still accelerating at the end of the 2 mile acceleration zone. It was interesting to see, that in the exact same space allotted to all cars, my 2009 LP560 achieved a higher top end than any of the Ferrari 458s present. One guy (rhyno), with virtually a brand-new, just-driven-off-the-lot LP560, hit 318kph. I thought his engine would need to be broken in, more, but perhaps Lamborghini has done minor upgrades throughout the life cycle of the LP. I was more than happy with 312kph!

150 mph in my 04 Heffner Gallardo. Not very fast. lol
I really don't drive all that fast anymore. For me I enjoy the short 30 to 130 bursts. I guess I'm getting old. I did a GPS verified 170 mph in my old 993 Turbo. Where I live we have a lot of lonely country roads so opposing traffic and police really aren't the issue. Deer are what we worry about! What did you run? |

330kph indicated on speedo.
A1 between Bologna and Modena. I find getting to 120mph or so is a breeze, I've touched those speeds in town in what seemed like just a few seconds (rolling at 50mph or so and then pinning it), 150-160ish needs a good run but not long, and after that it sure takes a while for the speed to climb and any traffic will just kill it. Besides, the twisties at 60-120mph is a hell of a lot more fun than 200 in a straight line.

Have fun!!! Keep in mind, though, that the speedos on our cars are WILDLY optimistic. When I was going 312 kph, my speedo was reading just over 340kph (I WISH!! )If you want a (very) reliable speedometer, get one of these: Racelogic VBOX Performance Box Performance Meters from HorsepowerFreaks The VBox read 311.5, when I ran the 312.3 at Race the Base. That's pretty accurate
