Default Test Drive

First of all, I am a new member of this community and would like to greet you all! I've spent a few minutes reading some of the posts in here and I can't help it but admire the people simply because how down to earth the environment is. Unlike other car forums I've been to, there are many insults and things of the like and I just don't see it here.

Anyway, I'm a new real estate investor and owning a Gallardo is one of my short-term goals. Just this evening, I'm standing in front of the San Francisco Lamborghini dealer, staring at the Gallardo as it is one of the ways to stimulate encouragement and perseverance in me. I've been wanting to come in for quite sometime now, but was always hesitant as I am not about to purchase one and I find it a little different than the usual car dealers.

My question is how do you go about test driving a Gallardo or just be able to come in the dealership to sit in and enjoy? This may sound silly, but I am unsure of how to go about it.

Tips would be much appreciated!

Greetings and welcome!

First of all, you have to come to the realization that these cars, like women, make you think with the wrong part of your anatomy when attracted to them. Once you get past that fact, you will be OK. Just go in to the dealer and talk. The dealer will let you drive the car only when they are 100% confident of your capability to make a purchase and not destroy their inventory. Most of the dealers I know are extremely receptive and kind. Usually, a recommendation from someone the dealer knows would help.

You know, I made an assumption that you are male. If you’re not, I apologize. But, the statement is relevant for women as well. With one tiny exception…the anatomy thing…well, not that tiny!

Good luck on that test drive, I'd say your chances are not very good. Sitting in it is no problem though.

I love your analogy and make so much sense! And yes, I'm a male. It's just a matter of me making the bold moves. I could only wish to purchase for now.

Thanks much for the response!

We allow test drives at our store for serious customers.

I purchased a new SUV for my wife yesterday. I would not buy it if I couldn't drive it. I'd feel the same way about a Lambo.

If you are truly interested in a Lamborghini, take a cheap flight out of California to Atlanta and drive your new Gallardo home.

That would be one heck of a road trip!

Dan

Hi Rodel, IMO, Lamborghini dealers are way better than Ferrari dealers. Although both dealers let me test drive their car but Lamborghini people are more accommodating. I was trying to buy an F430 first but the salesman was very arrogant and insulting. Fortunately, because of his attitude, I bought a Gallardo Spyder. I loved the car.
