Default Superleggera Prospective Buyer Questions

I went to the local dealer and turns out they have several Superleggeras coming in that haven’t been spoken for. I placed a refundable deposit on the car but I have some questions and would be great if someone could help.

1) There is quite a big premium over the standard Gallardo SE, so the big question is if the 150l-200lb weight reduction and 10hp really worth it? Are there other major differences? I know that the suspension has also been revised.

2) What are the chances that a higher end Gallardo (SV?) will come out before the Gallardo’s end of life?

3) Is the Superleggera really that limited and will suffer significant depreciation? I thought this car was sold out for 07 but that is not the case. I know a car is not really an investment but is the Superleggera anything close to the GT3RS?

4) Has anyone driven both the SE and the Superleggera? How about compared to the Murciealgo? I used to have a 03 Murcie. I guess even the earlier Murcies are faster in the straight line than the Superleggera? Dealer said they will have some demo cars coming in next month, so I will find out.

5) The dealer said they will sell the car only at MSRP. These cars are also quite fully optioned, which I don’t’ really need. Is any kind of discount possible with the Superleggera?

Thanks in advance.

I'll try to answer what I know about the superleggera

1. There is a 20% premium over the Gallardo Coupe. The premium covers a number of lightweight items made from carbon fibre (centre console, door trimings, roof (i think), spoiler, mirrors, rear bonnet with clear plastic), it also has straight through exhausts, light weight rims, more sportier seats, and a different steering wheel. It also only comes with e-gear (i think)

2. Lamborghini are quite secretive on what's to come in 2008. They have promised to release a new car every year tho. So expect something to be released next year, who know's what tho. Something that might be worth looking into is a rumoured release of a GT2. Lamborghini Chicago are having an event for the launch of it.

3. It's been said by the CEO of Lamborghini that they have already sold the numbers for 2007. 375 were allocated for the year and they've sold over 400.

4 & 5. Sorry, can't help there as I'm from Australia. Check your local dealers.
