Default question

i would like to buy a gallardo someday but i live in a country where you like see a sportscar 3-4 in a life time and i am pretty sure that you can't buy a lamborghini in this country (i live in denmark). then i have to get it imported and how much would that cost? Does it cost anything if you buy the lambo in another country and then drive it to your own country?have any of you guys (mostly the ones who live in a country with almost no sportscars) experienced anything like with your car like people coming up to it and touching it in worst case senerio get your car damaged by some a-hole.

thanks

Why do you think you can't buy one?

I have read that to own a Lamborghini in Denmark it's about 2.5 times the price of the United States price. A gallardo would be about 400000 us dollars in Denmark due to C02 emmisions tax or something.

Australia is simular with prices, but the tax we have is called Luxury Car Tax which is charged at 48.5%

Superleggera costs about $430k usd and the base Gallardo Coupe is about $360k usd.

My solution is move to the US

Actually 25% and only on the amount over the LCT threshold of around 57k.

The US gas guzzler tax and many state's vehicle reigistration fees are not insignificant.

If they are that rare, or near impossible to get in Denmark, you also have to consider who's going to work on it. Better be prepared to do allot of learning and be willing to turn some wrenches yourself.

Hi Mick Thanks for the correction and heads up.

Generally how much is state registration and gas guzzler tax? The petrol in australia is taxed heavily. I guess that's our way of gas guzzling tax.

Sat in a Supperleggera on the weekend. Found it hard to justify paying $489k aud + on road costs for something that costs $220k usd in the US.

State sales tax on a car is usually between 5% and 10%, it just depends on where you live. Rego renewal also varies by state, but typically runs another 1% to 3% of the book value of the vehicle. We also used to have a luxury tax. . .
