Default Problem with E-gear when reversing

Hello all,

I've just bought an apartment in the Algarve so I'm over here at the moment. I also thought it would be nice to buy a Gallardo so took delivery of one last night. It's an 06 plate E-gear in black with 51k on the clock. I imported the car from the Czech Republic so I am miles away from the dealer who sold me the car. I did pay a company similar to the AA to go and check the car out, however there seems to be a problem with the car.

The car seems to have a rough idle, if you then rev it in neautral it vibrates slightly. Then when you pull off it kangaroos a little like a car on a cold morning. The worst part is that when you put the car in reverse it kangaroos badly. It does manage to reverse but looks and feels terrible. I'm thinking this is all clutch related, what do you guys think? I'd like some idea before I go back to both the dealer and the company who checked it for me.

Thanks.

Yeah you might call it bucking. My friend here has the exact same car but the spyder and his reverses totally smooth, mine bucks in reverse very badly. So badly to the point that it looks like I can't drive the car lol.

Like said above, your pis needs to be adjusted. Your clutch RPM engagement point is probably set too low is my guess.

Mattyrae and Steeve are on it. A PIS adjustment by the dealer should definitely address the issue of the car bucking. The setting currently is too tight. To briefly explain, there are a range of hex settings that can be entered into the computer that translate into actual mm of travel. The tighter it is set (4.90mm for example), the better it will be for clutch wear. You would see more mileage out of the same clutch, but you will be more prone to deal with bucking and have a more harsh engagement overall. A looser setting (over 5mm, 5.10 for example) would go through the clutch faster so it lasts less mileage but is a smoother and much less harsh engagement and eliminates the bucking. This is a scan of the hex format to actual millimeter measurement of the PIS settings that Braco originally posted some time back:

Good luck with it!
