So is that engine cover easily retro-fittable?

Think i'll avoid the garage door opener though. If the branding package is small and doesn't look like a corporate t-shirt then i'll consider it too.

Hmmm, still haven't decided about eGear or manual, or Spyder or not (although I reckon the Spyder is probably out of the realms of decency given that my friend only wanted a Vantage if she won )

It's quite difficult to find the glass bonnet since most people want them but they weigh quite a bit more so you may find someone who's into racing that would want to trade if you had the exact same color.

There is someone who makes an even nicer aftermarket glass bonnet and does the correct color matching; it uses a larger window and I think it's lexan for weight savings.

You'll want the branding package; it's dignified, not obnoxious.

Well since I already have an Elise that i've owned for 9 years I think i'll track that as it's considerably cheaper to track than a G, I assume.

I'm not totally sold on the glass though - think i'd need to see one in the flesh. The engine is nice looking, but not exactly a knockout.

In regards to the glass bonnet, I think it looks great but I was wondering if any G owners that have it have had troubles with scratches to the quarter panels on their cars?

The reason I ask is that I was talking to a guy with a F-car and he had scratches all over the quarter panels from peoples clothing from them leaning over the car to look at the engine all the time.

Us car guys know enough not to touch the car or hold our clothing back before leaning but in the parking lots the bystanders may not be so informed.

He car had quite the damage to the paint that could not be buffed out.

That's a good point on the bonnet, I can see that being an issue because people do flock to the cars when they're parked and even if you put it somewhere safe with a valet, etc. people will still run over to look.

Don't mean to scare you guys...but this f-car has quite the damage to it.

I know I would really like the glass window, but the Spyders would only reveal the convertable top and about 6" of the engine

That is a very good point and very true!

Guess there is no sense on worrying about it. And I guess I'll find out soon enough
