If you plan on selling it in a year I would leave it alone. You should consider keeping it longer, maybe 3 years and go for the upgrades. By that time you probably will be able to pick up a low mileage new generation G. Properly fitted and installed I believe the mods add value and appeal!

I dont have all the answers, but I may be able to provide a little insight. I own a custom Shop, all of our clients are here for 1 reason or another. As it pertains to the Exotics, and answering your questions, here are my thoughts:
1.) My Opinion: Depends on the buyer. Most are buying the car to stand out, (those usually want bone stock for fear of underlying damages), the other clients who have been driving these for years, still want to stand out, only now they are generally surrounded by other exotics, and so to stand out, limited editions, minor upgrades, Fashionable Carbon is the way they do it. 2) My opinion, Abosolutly, you will limit the buyers, but this may not be a bad thing, there are a ton of people shopping ( without plans on actually buying) and waisting other people time doing it. In my opinion them and "wholesalers" are the ones looking for the entry cars bone stock and want them as cheap as possible. When you add that little bit of extra to it, you def, change the potential buyers. The ones who want that subtle "flare"

> 1. Aftermarket bumpers in general properly installed fitted and painted.
> Add value, detract value or a a wash come resale time? As the saying goes: value is in the eye of the beholder. > 2. Would I be limiting, or adding to the possible buyers by the bumper > install, versus those who insist on bone stock cars to do their own thing > with? You could keep the original parts -- that way you can cater to any buyer. I have enjoyed my 08 SL for more than 3.5 years and 50k miles now, and the amount of time I spend marveling about its nose doesn't justify a nose job. Heck, I even have a CA front plate! Now, if I ever manage to damage the factory bumper, then... heck yeah, 570-like nose it will be.

That is a very opinionated question. It really depends on what the buyer is looking for, if a buyer wants something that looks like a 560 or a 570 there are options. Just remember to build the car for yourself, not for potential buyers!

You already have one!
![]() Thanks for the replies. It's too bad the replacement bumpers are so $expensive, otherwise it would be a no-brainer for me I'd do it. The labor is understandable as there is considerable fitting and paintwork at a quality shop. Can always keep the stock one if a buyer down the road is a stickler for stock parts. Might still do it anyway.
