Default Need advice on buying a Gallardo

Hello folks,
The past few years I have dreamed about owning a super car and I have worked so incredibly hard to earn the funds for one. I have fallen in love with the Lamborghini Gallardo.

The past few days I’ve had this dilemma, it’s all I can think about and it’s affecting my sleep. The question is, do I really want this car? What I mean is, am I going to regret this a month down the line? At the moment I can't stop thinking about the idea of owning one, but it's a scary thought.

I’m just concerned that I’ll make a serious mistake on buying it, I could buy tonnes of stuff for the same amount of money (not that I need anything, but it puts the cost into perspective)

Does the thrill of owning/driving your Lamborghini ever leave you, have any of you had second thoughts after you’ve bought it?

If I did purchase one it would be used for cruising and special events and the odd few laps on a race track, fuel and maintenance isn’t an issue.

Any advice is welcome.

Many thanks.

I can tell you you'll go through many emotions, the thrill of the hunt is the best part. Finding and taking possesion is like a dream come true, but then buyers remorse sets in especially if you can't easily afford it. Then like all material things, the thrill fades and there's a let down. How long you own it depends on how much fun you have with it. I believe unless your a real hard core car guy you need a support system or buddies to keep you engaged. his site helps.

If your not sure about it leasing is probably a better way to go.

Thanks for the response, glad i'm not the only one who is emotional. Do you ever get tired of people crowding round your vehicle and saying "nice car"?, i'm not sure how i'd take that.

This is off topic, but all the images in peoples profiles are corrupt, all's I see is multicoloured lines. This happens on my laptop too, anyway to fix this?

Thanks

I never get tired of the compliments, it's the red neck jealous types that make me nervous.

The scrambled pictures are the result of a hacker. Until pictures are re-uploaded they will stay that way.

While there are no red necks where I live, there are some people that go round around keying cars for the fun of it. So for that reason I would never feel comfortable leaving it unattended

You forgot to mention that he'll forget all about the lows when he discovers all the new hotties the car attracts.

Are Lambo's a real babe magnet? I know women like cars too, but will they want to flirt with the owner just to get in the car?

I don't think there are any negative effects of owning a Gallardo, apart from speed bumps, I'll just have to stay clear of them (maintenance and fuel aren't really a problem, unless I get a major defect). I'm just worried that i'll regret it that's all

Where I live its hard to enjoy driving a Lamborghini- people either block you in in traffic to take a picture with their cell phone or want to race- you can't just drive and mind your own business. Cruising at 10-15 over the limit in the middle lane every honda and dodge neon blows by at 30-40 over the limit, then slows to either block you in or pull alongside- it gets really old really quick.
At red lights people want you to put your window down to tell them how much it cost, or how fast it goes or that even though they are driving a beater 3 series, they have one just like it at home or on order.
When you park it, people touch it, lean up against it to have there pictures taken with it, or put their faces on the window to look inside.
Once when I was driving through a parking lot a guy ran up to the car while it was moving and put his hands on the window sill (the window was down) and said "How much did this car cost?"

Ught, I guess thats the downside of being a Lamborghini fan

Maybe it's best to ingore them?

Waaay too many speed cameras and uncover cop cars in the UK so street racing is a no no, would hate to lose my license - anything over 100Mhp is a straight ban.

Whenever I see a Ferrari I do stare at the car, but I do it at a distance as I can only imagine the hassle the driver must get, but what would really get me mad would be people touching it or putting their faces against the glass

Silly to own a Lambo if you can't break tripple digits without that kind of penalty. Why the hell they even allow them in the country is beyond me..
