I reckon you need to do 3 things when you buy a supercar...

1. Go out for dinner regularly at nice places
2. Go to a motocross day so you can learn to chirp the tyres for when you want to make an entrance,
3. Take the odd tuesday off and go on a long drive by yourself with the stereo up and the windows down

I think a big part of the attraction is that if you don't let the mojo be sucked out of the car - it's your ticket to a 'different lifestyle' - pure escapism!

Default wondering the same.

wanted a viper - bought a vette - now looking at the Gallardo! i want to drive the car not look at it. i drove beaters for 11 years now i can afford it but instead of something that wow's others i want something that will wow's me! fortunately "i guess" i live in an area of north dallas where vettes and vipers as well as ford gt's and even yes a batmobile and all sorts of exotics are seen daily.

but the guy who talked about honda's with fart cans going by you and crossing in front of you going way over the speed limit does happen even to a guy in a vette. i can only imagine in a Gallardo it would be even worst!

but still i want one but wondering if the thing will wind up needing major work like a clutch after only 10 thousand miles etc. i drive like an old man 90 percent of the time and like a speed demon seldom.

is this car going to suit my temperament?

mark

I am also considering an ‘06 G car. I am still a bit worried about service and maintenance costs. I need to drive 3+ hours for service...and I don't want to be constantly driving there to fix frequent problems, which may crop up. And the warranty is only 2 years! SO...what about the "new" reliability of the G and will I have constant headaches.... some much so to make me regret the purchase????
Thanks for any input.
Steve
(P.S. Does anyone buy an extended warranty? And what do they cost, and where is the best place to buy them?? Thanks. Steve)
