Default Lowered the Gallardo (much improved!)

So I've had my Gallardo for about 7 months and one of the things that bothered the heck out of me was the damn wheel gaps between the top of the tires and fenders...looked like a damn SUV compared to my slammed BMW. lol

I'm used to driving a lowered car even while living in a major city and know every single pothole/dip/incline/speed bump in the city, so I'm used to driving my lowered BMW everywhere.

BUT...I was hesitant to lower my Gallardo because it does sit fairly low despite those large wheel gaps.

UNTIL NOW...

Here's some BEFORE PICTURES of the car at its stock SUV-like ride height...

So...since I was getting some new rear tires for the car, I decided it was also time to lower the car to suit my taste. So I dropped the car off at Josh@ECS's shop and asked him to lower it about an inch all the way around.

When I got the car back, it made such a difference! The stance is just right and just how a proper exotic should look! And I also noticed that it seems to drive better, too, with the lowered center of gravity...I'm pretty in-tune with my car and I noticed it right away.

Here's some AFTER PICTURES of the now-lowered Gallardo (Josh said he actually lowered it as far as it could go). Love it!

So how much lower did you go from stock? Also did you do the work yourself?

I'm actually not sure how much lower it is. It's definitely lowered more than an inch all the way around...I'm gonna guess it's lowered 1.5 inches or more. Haven't measured it. The wheel gap is just right for me..not slammed/tucked, but nicely lowered.

Josh@ECS lowered it for me.

No new springs needed.

Yes, the stock coilovers have adjustable spring perches to tweak the ride height...Josh set the ride height to the lowest it would go.

Looks great, wouldn't get away with that here in the UK with the state of our roads and the number of speed humps!

SUV-like height eh? :P

When I make it to somewhere with decent roads I might drop mine just a bit. maybe 1/4 in the front, 1/2 in the back. My front is pretty low but the back has substantially more gap (specs call for 12mm more gap in the back). I don't want to drop it too much in the back because if it's too stiff it can make it twitchy in the corners, and less traction on a launch.
