A G with e gear is harder to drive than I thought it would be, Im used to getting into a 6speed and shifting, that being said it kind of grows on you, other than a couple of tires and terrible ergonomics, the car has been great. The G is not made for a tall person without changes, I had some work done to the seat to make it more comfortable...the stereo is fair, and be sure to put a decent exhaust and some hi flow air filters on....

I'm a little guy, I'm only 5'6 130lbs. - I should have no problems with space on the inside. - From what I've been reading that is a common complaint among taller drivers.

As for the e-gear I've heard a lot of owners complain, I'll be sure to purchase the 6speed gear box. - Always been a fan of manual.

As for maintenance what types of things are needing replacement often? Primary reason I ask, the closest dealer/workshop that could handle this car would be Chicago, 17 hour drive. - I'm thinking once a year it would be a fun trip to take in the car, however if I'm going to have to pay for transport to keep the miles off I may have to pick another car if there is constant work needing to be completed.

From the lack of responses I'm starting assume that there is minimal work required for this car.

To my knowledge the clutch is the biggest concern. - For those of you whom have had to replace the clutch, do you rod the car? Or is this just something that happens because of the amount of power?

Tires, again are you burning rubber? Or is this just due to tire placement and natural wear? I know on my BMW and Mercedes the inside part of the tires wear very quickly, no matter how I drive. - Aggressively or conservative.

Does anyone know if an Audi dealer would have the skills/equipment to work on this car? I have a family friend who owns an R8, the dealer is able to work on it.... hmmm

Thanks for the kind responses!

Christopher

Get a Porsche for daily driving, I enjoyed all the Porsches I have owned! They are superb for daily driving and good looks. The "G" car is awesome too, its capable of daily driving but it is difficult to get in and out of and has a much rougher ride. Seats don't have soft padding either. The "G" is more of a race car. The 360 is a bit dated now.

It seems to me that you are pretty set with Gallardo. Nothing's wrong with it. I myself owned a 2008 Gallardo Spyder with E-Gear. IMO, Porsche is for daily driving and Gallardo is for weekend. You ask about the possible problems - well, clutch replacements and high cost of maintenance as compared to Porsche are few of the cost considerations. But just like I said on my previous response, IF MONEY IS NO OBJECT, I would go for Gallardo. Maybe not as fast as Porsche Turbo but in my opinion, THE BEST INVESTMENT FOR THE HEART.

Gallardo surely will put a smile on your face whenever you drive it.

Walt,

I do think that my heart is set on the Lamborghini. I just want to make sure I make an educated decision. Money is an object, being young I want to insure that I live properly and take advantage of the gifts my family has given me, but I most definitely do not want to throw that gift away because of a few large purchases. (I'm sure you can understand.)

Life is full of investments, a car is definitely an investment of the heart, not the portfolio.

I'm going to be taking a look locally at a 03 911 Turbo this weekend. I cant seem to find an RS model close enough to test drive. I have a business trip coming up soon that will be taking me to FL. I might try and connect with Gotham Motors for a weekend test drive.

The one thing I am not is in a rush. haha

choices choices.

Either way, Porsche or Gallardo - both are good cars. Most important, if you are not rushing, no pressure, you will definitely get a good deal from dealers. Good luck on your search.

Walt,

Thank you for the kind input. I will keep your comments in mind when test driving each of these cars.

As for the Ferrari, has anyone here owned a 360? - What were your reasons for purchasing a Lambo over one? Or do you own both? If so what do you like more about each car?

Thanks again,

Christopher

You don't want a 360, its slow and dated now. If you must drive it daily without a doubt 911 Turbo. Would be a shame to me to daily a exotic like the "G".

The 360 is dated, I would love an F430 over it, but I don't have $275k. If anyone would love to relive there youth through me they can. haha.

Which ever car I purchase will be driven weekly. I wont drive it everyday as I have other cars, but enough to where it will be considered a daily driver.

How slow is the 360 compared to the G?
