Default Looking at an 04 Gallardo. - First lambo - Please read owners -

Good day all,

I am a 24 year old small business owner. I have a passion for working hard, but playing harder. Financially I have honestly not earned the money I will be investing into a Lamborghini. Recently I have inherited a large some of money, I would like to use roughly $110k - $140k to purchase the car of my dreams.

I am debating the following cars :

911 Turbo RS / Lambo Gallardo / Ferrari 360

I'm looking for the following information:

Daily driver : What type of repairs should I anticipate?
: What types of costs should I affiliate?

Investment : Estimated resale value in 5 years with 25k/40k miles

For current owners, do you believe the spyder is the proper way to go? What do you like about the car? What do you not like?

Thank you so much for the responses.

IMO, for daily driving, you will be better off driving the Porsche considering the cost of ownership on both Ferrari and Gallardo (maintenance etc.). But if money is no object, definitely I would pick Gallardo. It is such a fun car to drive.

None of those cars are investments either, you will loose money on all of them.

Thank you for the responses so far.

I view it as an investment in my happiness, is there going to be a financial return on the car at a later date? Unlikely. VERY unlikely. I fully understand that I could invest the money in real estate/stocks/bonds and see a high rate of return. Being that I am young I would like to purchase a car of such standards while I can enjoy it.

I'm roughly spending 1/4th of my inherited funds on the automobile of my choice. Concerns to me are repairs/upkeep. I would prefer not to spend $130k to have it followed by $70k in repairs. - I can handle around $30/$35k in the years that I own it. - I own a business and am rather gifted at what I produce, I believe long term that will hold as my primary source of income, I don't want to get lazy simply because of money left to me.

Investment was a poor word choice on my end.

exactly.

Nothing wrong with being a big kid! - I remember when I bought my first 7 series (Mind you it wasn't new) But when I bought it...I remember I experienced the same feelings as I did as a small boy at toys r us when I got my first bike or cool new toy.

Shopping for a super car is very similar to me, I cant wait until I walk into a show room and its MINE

Roy,

I'm looking for a Ithaca Green Gallardo. - With Bullet Grey rims. - I'm not sure if they're stock or not, but I've seen many Gallardo's with the rims I'm wanting. Blacked out tint is also a must, but thats fairly simple to have applied at purchase if anything.

If you can find me one please let me know the asking price along with car fax.

PM would be most appropriate.

Current owners. - What are things your experiencing? What small things break? Whats made cheaply?

Do you find corners were cut?

Or was this thing built properly? Is it not just a name? Or is it quality straight through?

well, I am new to this forum but I can share with you this...

I just sold my silver 05 gallardo with an e-gear. LOVED the car, Hated the e-gear.
I replaced it with an 04 murcielago with a 6 speed and I am more in love with it than I could have EVER imagined. I think I would have felt the same way about the gallardo
if only I listened to myself and got the 6 speed. so much more control over the car in traffic and in general- the lack of direct control really frustrated me enough to sell the car... but thats my opinion.
I had a band new M-6 BMW before these cars and hated the SMG. I could never get it right (13 shift programs- come on are they kidding?)however the BMW system worked so much better by comparison. Now, the lambs are not as comfortable for spending long hours in, but who cares? The M-6 was like a living room in comparison but I can tell you this... no car has ever excited me more than the lambs gallardo or otherwise. life is short and it can end at any moment- do what makes you happy.

in a nutshell, when you drive a lamb your excited and then you stop and get out and look at it you get even more excited. I dont dislike the other cars you mentioned I see them all the time here in sarasota florida but they (like the commercial says) do not return the favor when you turn them on.
