Default Lambo market and car to buy

Guys,

Been reading the forum for a while, debating my first lambo purchase and have come to a crossroad.

I like the 2009+ update on gallardo's and have been set on a 2010 spyder but the market has been moving steadily since I started watching around December, and it's moving up?!

Is this a seasonal movement, or more tied to supply and demand? IE no AWD spyder's being made anymore?

In talking with dealers I get a different answer out of all them based on their bias to sell me their new 550-2 or their used 560-4...

I'm now kinda leaning towards just leasing a brand new one and taking out any downside market risk.

Seems like there's no private party sales in the country leaving resale to a dealer on consignment or trading in at a pretty big hit.

I can afford to play with cars in the 2-300k price point in cash but that doesn't make much sense given my other options for placing capital. I just want to play with one of these and limit my downside to 20-30k a year.

Any ideas from other guys in my position?

Also anybody got a 2009+ for sale? Can pay cash quickly

best time to buy is always during winter...summer prices are always higher..that said..color/option/yr might not be there when you want it.

obviously i'm not delusional into thinking it's a "good" investment, but anybody with enough money to play with these at all has probably pondered the most efficient way of doing it? IE lease a new one every 12 months, wait for the right private party deal, buy in the winder due to lower demand...

I appreciate the feedback!

I think you will "lose" $30,000/year whether you buy it or lease it.

^^ Haha^^ my thought is to own. when u lease it u dont own it and there are mileage restrictions. being the 2nd owner is the way to go. let the first guy take that initial depreciation hit which is the biggest. from there you'll still lose 10-20% annually. but how long will you have the car? if the answer is a few years then maybe by the time u sell or trade it back in it will have cost u a thousand bucks per month to drive a lambo for a few years if u do it right. a cpo extended warranty on a certified pre-owned car is good peace of mind and 2 years of coverage can be had for around 7 G's. should be able to get a really nice lp560 for 160's. hope this helps.
