Arrow Manual or Egear

Finally today i test drove the manual and the egear. I must admit that the e-gear is very well done on this car. You can change abruptly and fast if you don't lift off or if you lift the accelerator a little change gear without even noticing it. And it dosen't have the problem of gearbox oil warming up.... Still I think i will go for manual. It is altogether a better experience and you feel really connected to the car. Plus my dealer here in Milan Italy told me that only 3% more or less of G cars are manuals... and i don't know about you but i like to be a little different. The manual is more challenging if you will. And i wont be using it every day anyways so...The clutch on the manual i drove was totally fine, not too hard not too soft and it caught traction (or however you say it...) immediatley as you lifted your foot..The only thing sometimes tricky was getting the gears in properly but i suppose that comes with getting used to "the grill".

Anyways the dealer also told me that on 2005 cars, of which they are getting the first deliveries, there will be an upgrdade of some sort on the gearboxes (both manual and egear). Plus the seats will have a better incline for improved visibility....
The dealer also told me to go for Tubi style rumore exhaust which is truly amazing "its like being in an F1 car" he said. And from what ive heard on the net its true....

Any feedback on the optional sport setup? what is it exactly? has any of you got it? is it too extreme considering the car won't be tracked often?

One more question: On the e-gear the ESP has 2 settings, normal aand a little bit permissive when sport button is pressed. Is there the same option on the manual version (of a more permissive esp)?? CHEERS

Conclusion: January can't come fast enough as one said

Hi Gallardo301004, I think I have a pic of the Titanium-colored wheels, look at my attachment.

Could you please tell more details of the 2005 changes, especially about the front-lift system? I heard the Diablo's not that reliable and it leaks. Also, you said it lifts the front for 10 cm?

Thanks

Hey there thanks for the picture. The changes as far as the dealer has told me are general updates including a better clutch (don't know better in what way...) a slate under the driver's seat to make it somewhat higher (maybe the back portion) and therefore better for the driver's visibility. I was told that the lifting system will higher the car by about 10cm which seems a bit too much for me...but i tink it will higher it at least 5cm which will be good for bumps etc... I am sure the ones on the G car are revised and better than the ones on the diablo so I doubt (and hope) there will be any problems.... sorry i can't be more precise. If i get more info. i will post it.

I attach a picture I found of a G car with dark rims. Do you guys think these are the titanium colored wheels? You can see the complete set of pictures of these wheels and car at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...505195120&rd=1

cheers

"The dealer also told me to go for Tubi style rumore exhaust which is truly amazing "its like being in an F1 car" he said. And from what ive heard on the net its true...."

I have the tubi rumore on my gallardo- it does sound really good. I've listened to it back to back with the stock exhaust on another gallardo- the tubi is deeper and when it revs it does remind me of a F1 exhaust, but not as shrill sounding. There has to be a weight savings too judging by the size of the mufflers taken out. Plus the heat shields around the rear body work are removed so you can see the chrome muffler through the rear grill- looks a lot cooler than stock!

As an aside my brother saw a post on a dodge enthusiasts site of someone who saw an orange gallardo with a tubi that sounded awesome in florida. When he asked what town, it was my town- so my car is definitely getting attention- luckily not from the police (yet)

Default part of the excitment.

Speaking as a person that is never going to own a Lamborghini I have to wonder if part of the excitement in buying one is the limited information on what you are buying before getting it. Even lamboghini.com gives limited information. To me it seems funny that online you can build your own civic and check out all the different options and colors that are available. Yet with Lamborghini there isn’t much out there except for past models information . Im lucky I guess as I won’t have to worry about that choice Thanks for finally clearing the lift thing I have had been searching every where for that and couldnt find it any where.

Angry Gallardo -manual 6 speed- clutch problems

I chose the gallardo with the manual transmission, and after ONLY 4300 KM my authorized dealer says I have clutch problems and wants to tear the car apart to find out how much it will cost me. I'm very disappointed and would appreciate hearing from anyone who did get warranty coverage as they are not being helpful in this regard. All I noticed was once or twice it was a little tough getting between first and second gears.

Default Clutch Problems

I can't remember where but if you do a search on gallardo clutch there is extensive coverage on clutch, clutch problems and replacement. Try also in the old LT forum (can find link in the forum lists).
Your problems sounds strange, the clutches are designed to last alotmore than that and i guess that you would feel if there was a problem so I dont know WTFyour dealer told you...ask for more info on the problem...+ Do you trust him? tough getting between first and second could be due to cold gearchange oil temperature...
Apart from this I can tell you that my dealer has informed me that the 05' models will have a revised clutch. (should be better...) Hope i was helpful!

Cheers.

P.S. any photos of your car?? always want more photos

Ciao Max! Good to hear there are some computer literate Italians on L-talk!! It would be nice to know if there were Lambo owners in N.Italy so we could organize rallies or meetings.... Don't know if there is a lambo club here in N.Italy.
If you live just 30km from the factory i bet you see alot of exotics!! How come your so lucky to drive various lambos? Speak soon,

Lo.

You have to join the Lambo Club Italy for some events during the year.
Now I don't have the adress but you can find it on the Lambo official site.
I hope to be able to be more present on the forum....
Nice talking with you, bye

Max
