looking to buy my 1st gallardo and im wondering how important mileage is on an exotic car. is 30k miles alot for this type of car with clutch recently changed? or should i shop for a car on the lower end of the spectrum as far as mileage goes?

All depends on the maintenance, and how the car was cared for. That is considered high mileage but might make a good bargaining tool.

considering how reliable my g is, I wouldn't mind a high mileage g and take a huge price reduction.

i consider millage in regard to service history.... i never buy new... but i will take a high millage car if its been treated well...and is healthy all round.

but that being sayed i realy dont drive the hell out of my lambo's....
or realy any of the cars i have... most on the odometer is the G500 merc at 60,000km's

the lambo's are at most: my sv 29,000 km's then the murci like around 7000 km's and the lm002 at 13,000 km's...

make sure the car is healthy for its age... and your all set.. regardles of all else

Let me tell you, I had a 5000 mile Diablo which I thought drove pretty well.
I then bought a 30000 mile Diablo with complete engine, gearbox, clutch, and other overhalls. Hands down, the 30000 Diablo drives better.
The steering is better and the shifteing is better.
I didnt think it was possible, but it is.
Mileage helps the car, doesnt hurt.
Of course, the maintenance helps and if there is documentation, you are much better off.

The most ridiculous thing about this issue is that most exotic car owners in the USA have never experienced the 'full' range of power available from their cars. The reason for this is that they are never properly run-in, and therefore do not produce the full power that they are capable of attaining. Most of the modern engines will not be putting down full power until they have done 10,000 miles plus. In Europe, the cars are driven. They tend to run better, stronger and last longer because of it (with proper maintenance of course). Most owners here have never experienced the car at it's best....

most services i see aren't big. Oil / tranny fluids and filters until you get to the timing belts but nothing really improves performance.

When I was considering a preowned Gallardo I would not have even considered a car with more that 5000 miles. That is just the way I feel about it. To me 5k or less is still pretty much like new and I didn't notice any substantial price drop between 5k and 25K.

What was noticeable was the interior, the tires and the paint. Anyway even the 5K bothered me so I bought a new one with 46 miles on it.

Plus 100% I will put up my 30K Diabo against any low mile car any time
