That's what he had me do and I found out that the modules are not sealed good at all at the connector and they let water in which corrodes the wires. Mine is toast. Also, the diagram shows that the module is under the wipers, which it isn't. It is indeed on the right side of the bumper. I'm planning on dropping the belly pan this weekend and see if I can get to it without removing the bumper. I have a technician that thinks he can re-solder the connections. Anyway, your post reminded me of my problems and I thought I'd chime in. Good luck.
Thanks very much. It does blink, and until the part where it is supposedly learning the garage remote, it follows what is in the instructions reasonably well. I just do not get the indicators flashing, and even after 5 minutes, the red LED is still slow flashing. I hope it is not corroded, as it is a brand new vehicle, but I will check it out and claim under warranty if necessary. It is frustrating, as it seemed like a convenient feature to have if it actually worked!

Sorry for bumping a dead thread, but did you ever get it to work? I have an 07 Spyder and am experiencing a similar problem.

I just did this 3 days ago and mind was a rolling machine. Took 2 of us to read the instruction 10 times to figure out exactly what was being said!

There is a button on the garage door machine inside, you hit that and it will give you 30 seconds to learn your code. So press the I and III button for 20 seconds, then get someone else to hit the code button on the machine, then hit the I, II or III homelink button until it flashes, THEN press your garage door opener near the bumper.

I didn't get my lights flashing but it worked. I programmed 2 doors this way.

Hey guys, mine don't work either. Here's what I've tried:

1) turn the car to on position (1 click with the key - car not started)
2) press and hold Homelink button I and III together until the light blinks
3) once see the light blinks, I let go both I and III buttons
4) I then press the homelink button that I like to program, so I press I
5) when I press button I, then the light blinks slowly
6) I then go to the front of the car with my garage remote, bend down on my knees, hold the garage remote control to the left grill just beneath the head light and press and hold the garage remote control button that open the selected garage door
7) Here I've attempted several different variations:
a) I press and hold for 2-3 minutes (seem like forever)
b) I press and let go the same remote control button several times for 2-3 minutes
c) I press and let go the same remote control button just once

What I noticed when I did option c), the Homelink indicator light went from blinking slow to blinking really fast for couple of seconds and then turns off. I then proceed to press the Homelink button I to see if it's programmed? No dice!?

I even tried involving "learn" button on the garage door opener motor with the above sequence, nothing seen to work?

All these attempts, my freaking garage door kept on going up and down and me waiting for my blinkers to flash 3 times to confirm programming!? What gives dude?

Some body got to know how this works!

I know this for fact:
1) my garage door remote works
2) my homelink system has power
3) this is a pain in my a$$

Anyone?

Absolutely, the Homelink "feature" on Gallardos sucks a$$. It DOES work, but keep in mind that for most people, they never get the blinkers blinking three times - it just doesn't happen.
I went through the same thing, and finally, I realized that even though i didn't get the three indicator flashes, the remote HAD actually been programmed into the car!

After that, you of course have to get the garage door opener to "learn" the signal coming from the car, so you have to push the "learning button" on the garage opener, and push the button in the car, up to three times.

Here's a link where we finally got it figured out:

Another failure!

Good luck. It DOES work...... patience glasshoppa, patience......

I concur with TTBear. The blinkers never blink despite of what the manual says. I finally got my Homelink programmed after several attempts and realizing the manual must have been written for another version of the Homelink firmware or maybe they never tied the blinkers to the Homelink module altogether.
