Looks like my battery is dead!
I searched the fourm and found the removal instruction. It was straight forward except for the CD changer that took sometime to remove. I'm not even sure I want to fix it back! It is so heavy and I never use it anyways! I have my battery now fully exposed and easy to remove. I'd like to know if it's ok just to unplug the battery and replace it! Is there anything I need to know before disconnecting the positive and negative terminal? Would that some how triggers any ECU, or settings loss issue? Thanks, |

Replace it with something good, if you haven't done so already sun some test to make sure it is the battery. I know you just got the car so you want to make sure all is well.

Are these Optima Red Tops actually up to the job? There is an awful lot of engine to crank over, especially in this cold weather.
The thing that I have in there at the moment is about 1.5 times the size of a Red Top. Moll 595 203 076, 12V, 95Ah, 450A, 760A(EN). Obviously Moll don't sell them, that would be too easy. The Red Top only has 70Ah, and the Duralast Gold thing from AutoZone, while being the correct size and power, etc, has the terminals on the wrong sides. Yes, I could put it in backwards but that puts the terminals too far into the car guts to access them through the flap should I ever actually need a jump start. Anyone have a better solution? Going to the dealer is option Z. |
