Great video Thane. I guess Lambo is good on twisty roads and F430 is good in straight lines.

Default Gallardo vs. f430

I just got back in after a day at Moroso..Racing my business partner Tony ( F 430)--his best lap was 1:46....I was consistently in 1:43 and 1;44 and did a best lap of 1:42.50

The F 430 had been lowered an inch for better turning, had a custom chip to ship faster, and was running Pirelli slicks ! I was running my stock Gallardo 2004 with tubi exhaust, and Pirelli corsa tires.

I did about 130 miles for the day on the track.
The Corsa tires were pretty awesome...the most significant thing you can do to a stock Gallardo that I have seen.
Regards,
Dan

I had a 360 Stradale, an F430, and now a superleggera; Hands down the best of the bunch. My buddy has a 430 stradale incomming, we will see this summer what our time at Blackhawk and Watkins will be.

That's great news Dan! Now we all know, Gallardo is faster than F430

I am the owner of a Gallardo, but driven the F 430. Both great cars, I agree that it comes down to a personal preference.
I get more fun and looks on the Lambo do.

That is going to be a lot of fun!

Good luck to both of you.

i have owned 2 ferrari's and just bought a 2008 Gallardo - so far i am very impressed in it's handling and overall performance- plus i think the car's lines blow away the 430!!!

I've ridden in both, and driven a F430. Still waiting to drive a Gallardo.

From a purely gutteral, raw and "animalistic" viewpoint, the Ferrari takes the crown...but for daily living, comfort and overall speed (and dare I say practicality?!), I have my eye set on the Gallardo. Of course the easy solution is to own both. If only buying one from driving & riding in both, I'm set on the Gallardo. I would of course be more of a reliable source if I had owned either

^ I had a '04 Gallardo and now a F430, both stick shift. If I was to buy right now either one I would go for a Gallardo. Why? They are pretty close and the Lamborghini can be bought saving a huge amount of money. In performance they are so close, but in bang for the buck the Gallardo is the one.

Answering now to the original poster of the thread, the winning car is all about driver skills between these two cars.

I have not driven a F430 but here are a few considerations:

- The F430 seems "faster" on paper
- Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but the Gallardo has undoubtly more road presence and sheer "look at me factor" than the Ferrari
- The F430 does sound better than the Gallardo (with stock exhausts)
- Residual values for the F430 here in Japan are much, much stronger than the Gallardo (second hand F430s trade at par or at slight premium over new, while the Gallardo tanks in price)
- F430s are common as muck here while the Gallardo is a true exotic.
