Default Gallardo SE or '06 Base Model?

Just checked out the SE model at Manhattan Motorcars...very very nice. Wondering what opinions were about that versus a similarly optioned '06?

Callisto wheels, 520 hp, gear ratios, rear camera, etc...all seem to be available for the '06 base model.

A big key here is that I didnt plan on purchasing one until the summer, when the SE's will likely be gone Is it worth rushing this thing to get an SE now?

Thoughts?

Ed

if you like the color combos then the se is a good choice. however, if you are looking for the car with exterior and interior color of your choice.. hold out for the 06

I would not rush things. Take your time especially when you know that 06 model is pretty much the same!! I mean, when buying your new baby you want the colour scheme and options spec to be right what you want, dont you?
Only thing I am not sure you can get on the 06 is the black roof but that would be an easy aftermarket job if it is not available on 06 model.

No. The black top & mirror paint , as well as the custom SE interrior, is only available on SE's.

I was at Lambo of Boston looking at them a couple days age, I was told the only things SEs have that cannot be optioned on an 06 base model are:
Black painted appointments
Alcntara steering wheel
numbered plaque
dark grey wheels

but i think when you option the regular 06 to SE specs, it would come out almost the same. and doesn't the SE come with stiffer suspension like the track setup of the 05 models?
