Default Fob Remotes won't reprogram after changing batteries

Hey Guys,

Both of my Key Fobs won't reprogram. One has been dead for a few months and the other apparently just died (go to store car locks fine on way in, won't unlock when i get back out 5 minutes later). So I buy new batteries for the remotes and follow the procedures i read on here and can't get it to resync. Any help would be appreciated. Heres what I tried:

1) press and hold unlock on remote, turn key to on position (dash lights up and egear pump primes), turn key to off, release button. Nothing

2) same as one except holding both buttons

3) same as above two both ways except fully start engine

Done all of these and even held buttons down for 5-10 seconds in on positions and can't get any response out of the FOBS.

Thanks in advance to all you savy lambo owners

I reprogrammed mine a couple months ago, 2008 G spyder:

Insert key into slot
Turn key, do not turn the engine on, just before ignition.
Hold BOTH buttons for a good 30-45 seconds, release buttons
Take key out

Should work, let us know

Press unlock ones on the keyfob. Insert the key and turn the ignition on. Turn the ignition off and remove the key. Press unlock ones again.

This is the only procedure that works for me, and I have tried a few.

I'm getting no response with either one of those methods. Just retried them again for the heck of it and nothing

Follow this exactly, my fobs were both dead and this is how it's done:
After installing new battery:
Get in car and press unlock button on fob once
Insert key and turn system but don't start engine.
Turn off and remove key.
Press both buttons simultaneously. System will blink twice to indicate reset.

Mine didn't work unless the unlock is pressed first.

Wow, all these slight variations makes one think that there is something fishy going on. Good luck coralfarmer!

twinv10

Tried exactly as you posted and still nothing. I don't get it

anyone else have any suggestions? The thing that doesn't make sense to me was I went into store for 5 minutes FOB was working and allowed me to lock doors, then doesn't work 5 minutes later on way out? I never noticed it getting weaker or causing problems prior. Same thing happened with the other Fob a few months back and I just threw it in the drawer and started using this one. Batteries probably were old but getting it to reprogram is becoming a pain

I followed your guide a while back and it worked first try, which is what I posted above...

Crazy. The way I noted was taken directly out of the manual and worked for me on two separate fobs. I don't get it.
Do you have a manual for the car? It should spell out the procedure.

i am guessing you need the dealer to program your keys now. sounds like it needs more than the synching procedure. i know, it's not pleasant.

as a last ditched effort, perhaps disconnect your car battery, let it sit for a few minutes and then retry synching with either remotes. i am guessing something on the car failed (instead of the remote)
